I only noticed it now but the Sun in the background is her actual health bar as it only progresses when hitting EoL thats one hell of a detail

It obviously takes inspiration from some Fargo fights, specifically mutant, but dials it up to 11 with the visuals. If this is the future of modded Terraria, I’m here for it!
I also find it interesting that, like the mutant, she doesn’t really die at the end. It feels like this was a duel, and at the end, you’re deemed worthy. But also she’s not finished at the end, and could keep going if she really felt threatened.

@@Solar_a yeah, but it also has the “circle of doom” where if you leave it you presumably take a ton of damage. That’s a Fargo’s soul mechanic originally. And the original fight also had a laser that would go in a circle similar to mutants final attack.
It can take inspiration from more than one thing.

The good challenge while still giving simultaneously stunning visual (2.1 fair and not blocking all the view of the player) is beyond word

you can't look at this Boss Battle and not imagine that it wasn't taken from Touhou, the music, the Bullet Hell style attacks, the fact that everything is perfectly in sync with the music

The big lazer basically being a Master spark
Parts where you can’t damage the boss and you are only meant to survive just like Survival spell cards. Also, the background symbols during the survival look somewhat similar to what you can find in touhou. The difference being that touhou’s symbols are often religious, most commonly the star of david or a pentagram (crucifix and swastikas have also been used at times) while this has no religious meaning behind it.
More focus on pretty patterns instead of hard to dodge random bs.
A survival before the final attack that is rapidly increasing difficulty (mostly found in the extra stage)
Also, attacks are sometimes synced with music in touhou, not even that uncommon. Just only in the stages and not during boss fights.
Some comparisons are hard to do due to the lack of bullets. But it’s easy to say that this is probably somewhat inspired by touhou (Y’know, being probably the most popular *shoot’em up bullet hell* and all that, which funnily enough, touhou isn’t even the hardest bullet hell game there is, actually far from it. It’s just really popular)

@@oxyacidal5102 Very true that not all bullet hells are touhou. There are a lot of different kinds of bullet hell if that’s a CAVE game, a touhou game or maybe not even a shoot 'em up game, could be enter the gungeon. But due to how it’s built up, are there some similarities. And because touhou is one of the more popular bullet hell games so wouldn’t it be a surprise if this is inspired by touhou. But we may never know if that’s the case or not
This boss fight is SO GOOD! I JUST CAN'T! And I'd heard that song in particular years ago not long after it was released, so it's just a layer of nostalgia on top of it

You can focus on dodging the attacks while your summons can do the damage

In this mod,
Empress of Light is not dying
when terraria released empress of light, it was the best boss i've ever seen in terraria (in my opinion) but this dude (----> yiyang233) made it even better...and um.. a lot harder.

to hover, you just tap space periodically: hes not actually hovering in the sense of things like the hoverboard
first, he wasn’t using the accessories because the Eol has dynamic dr,and it’s useless to have so much damage

@@coldsux6651 i dont really understand cause it seems even if shes in the same spot 2 different times once she can go clockwise and the other can go counterclock wise. is the warning just the rainbow thing that circles her to tell you that its gonna happen or does it spin in the direction the fires gonna go?

No wonder everyone keeps using the same song for the fight, its really good and it syncs very well with the fight. And it is called, "take flight"...
Is there an intentional correlation?
That's not people editing their videos with the song, it's actually the boss' theme with this mod. The reason it syncs so well is because the attacks were MADE to sync with the music.
