As a Chinese, I want to explain that Chinese people can criticize the government. For example, if some local governments do something bad, such as corruption, dereliction of duty, abuse of power for personal gain or other things that harm your rights, you can post your criticism online, and the government will also pay attention to these online news and solve them. In China, the Internet is also a very important channel for supervising government. Even if you criticize the chairman, it doesn't matter. At most, your comments will be deleted. I can guarantee that the government will not arrest you.😂😂
@@whatislovebutonelonggame5406 You can criticize the central government, but the central government may not pay attention to you. Even in the US, if ordinary people criticize the White House's decisions, do you think the White House will listen to them?

I watched a couple of Chinese UA-camrs walking back to their car (parked in a very dark car park) with a lot of stuff in it because they are sleeping in it while they travel around in China making vids....and I thought about how little hope they would have of being able to do that here in the UK and not finding someone had broken into it and stolen their stuff. The first time I visited China was in 2011. The sky was not blue. It was a murky grey and the ssun was a white spot through the murk. Went back in 2013 and the air quality had improved dramatically. Blue skies, stars seen at night
The air in the last 5 or so years has improved a lot especially because of the growing numbers of EVs and e-scooters. Now China has over 50% of EVs making the air cleaner. Go to the big cities and you will notice an improvement.

Hi Lizzy, just let you know all Chinese citizens are allowed to criticize government. It's even protected by law, so long as such criticizes are genuine, constructive and fact-based. Indeed, there is an ultimatum that if any Chinese citizen making accusation of any government department and / or officials of any wrongdoing by disclosing his/her real full name and identity number through public channel including online social media, the government must take action to investigate and disclose the outcome to the public. This is some sort of unique way of transparent governance exercised here. Anyway, thanks for sharing your life in China. Enjoy your clips always. 👍

I really really appreciate your feelings about China. Especially the last part, when you say China is what future looks like. I am a bit concerned, because it costs a lot of money to maintain infrastructures, and China is building increasingly more buildings/bridges/roads/airports everywhere. I watched some old videos displaying American life 40, 50 years ago, with all the beautiful houses, gardens, communities, colorful paintings. But the government could not afford keeping those beautiful things in good shapes in the following decades. Now the entire area turns into a jungle with collapsing buildings randomly placed around. China is looking good right now, I wish it can keep that way for as long as possible.
I live in London, England and have been to many places in China and found it very safe and clean making it very enjoyable to visit. The technology, infrastructure and efficient clean public transportation are all excellent! I wished my home in London was as clean, safe and had the same excellent cheap public transportation.

Fyi Lizzie, one can complain about the govt and submit a written complaint too via the local community leader or local municipality. In fact there are hundreds of thousands of complaints. If the complaints are valid, it is resolved without having to go to Parliament or Congress (for US) where politicians trade insults at each other or in the case of US, politicians talk about this or that nation has violated human rights, freedom or democracy or who to sanction or is national threat, and at the end of the day, nothing is resolved.
Almost all traffic lights in Canada are dumb; they change according to a preset program whether there are cars or not in that direction. Moreover, Canada almost entirely consists of level crossings, leading to severe traffic congestion, especially during rush hour, as you have to watch a green light given to an empty intersection. The set program also seems very arbitrary, with some neighborhood side roads getting a green light for as long as 35 seconds. This outdated traffic light system turns a 70 km/h expressway into an average 50 km/h slow lane. What's worse, no one seems to mind the increasingly worsening traffic jams and congestion.
