We had problems with people stealing diesel so we bought a new tank and filled the other one with water now and then there a van broken down half a mile from farm
I'm not pointing fingers but a mate of mine in Sussex is a farmer and found half a dozen caravans in one of his fields, so Tony and a few of his farming mates popped over with shot guns and tractors and politly asked them to leave, this approach didn't seem to get through to the vagrants so one of Tony's mates picked up one of the caravans with a bail forklift thing and tipped the caravan over the hedge and down the embankment, for some reason this action seemed to work and promptly all the vagrants drove away into the sunset. Tony never heard anything from the old bill or council, and to this day the vagrants havent returned. Great video's John cheers.

Hi john I have a farm in East Sussex every so often we get pricks that come looking for stuff or they claim they are lost now we have had to invest in more security police are no different down here you tell them about a van and they do nothing about it funny thing is they came once wen we were out lamping rabbits with shot guns should have seen there faces lol 😂
We've had periods of thieving as well (not personally, but in the neighbourhood). Stolen diesel from farms, batteries, garden tractors / lawnmowers, and scrap metal. Most of the times they use fake or stolen plates on their vehicles. Here in the Netherlands there is usualy little you can do about it, seems that criminials have more protection ('rights' the law calls it...) than normal people have. Police usualy does little to nothing, and if you try to stop criminals yourself, you are the one that gets prosecuted (spelling might be wrong, but I think you know what I mean).
Bad luck with the thieves, not a lot you can do legally other than make things awkward for them so it's easier for them to go elsewhere. Theve got guts coming back repeatedly but know that they can get away with it. Poacher mines and proper monitered alarm with multiple local responders and extra mains sounder is the road I've been down with my workshop. Luckily for me there are other probably easier pickings but it's a constant worry.
Well now, Just out on the street in Richmond Va. saw two Ford Transit vans, one large one small no windows in the back doors but did remind me of you thieving visitors. Good luck to you. There’s always a baseball game around the corner in USA, or cricket match on The Green, carry you bat with you at all times. Never know when you might get served with a fast one from a hurler thief. Our bats are made by Louisville Slugger. Good name for a “Defenseman”. Do the coppers enforce no trespassing violators?
Well now, For those battery thieves, a twenty gauge shot gun with rat shot works in Virginia USA? So dose six and twelve volt fencing around your property in high travel areas. An intruder alert system is useful. Pallets staked around battery pallet with a trip wide is very useful. Your local banker might let you have a couple explosive dye packs they give bank robbers to place under the batteries. Spray paint all of your batteries and video the process. Ask a private investigator to get the name and address of the thieves and take some boys to his house. Wait for them to leave and go thieving yourself. Buy night vision goggles that’s most likely what they are using. With all the traffic cams in England, the local coppers have got to get a line on the White transit with those numbers. They do have the technology. Raise hell until they help you. Organize your friends. Here we call it neighborhood watch. In armed of course. I am sorry you have such rotten people around. Bad world when the crooks get away free and a man in the trucking business gets ear marked by the federals.
Hay john can't you worn people about two off road landys stealing ifor William 506 horse trailers. They will rip out a hedge cut locks they will do anything to get them
The plates on the van could easily be stolen or false. Don't focus on the reg too much because it could be changed by them very easily. First thing I would do is get a big sign made up for the main entrance.. "PRIVATE PROPERTY, TRESPASSERS WILL BE SHOT". It would be also worth investing in a good guard dog, accompany that with a "BEWARE OF DOG" sign on the entrance. Guard dogs are loyal animals and they will be as friendly as you like when you are around, but if it's night time and you are in bed, they will not be so friendly to intruders. Theose signs alone should make people wary of entering your property uninvited though. It also might be worth investing in a shotgun.
i only need to have my trucks and trailers checked once a year. and that by EU regulations. we even call them EU tests. most funny we are not member of the union lol.
Could do with an electric gate for the yard John, and dispose of them batteries quicker. I suspect I know which section of society these blokes are from.
john you need to buy yourself some metal electric cantilever gates just had some done cost 4k all installed custom logo in the middle , linked strait to your mobile so you can chose to let them in or not even if your not on site !! best money we ever spent
John i never knew you read classic tractor. I bought the latest one today with massey ferguson tractors on the front. The COUNTY Bomford loader article is a good read.
We have problems with similar types of people down here in Dorset. There were a few caravans pitched up illegally at the edge of one of our fields so I waited until they were all out and I skewered their caravans with the telehandler and lifted up the caravans and dropped them from a height into the road behind and I closed the gate never got problems again
Why are recycling centres taking batteries off them and a lot pay cash to the scum ,recycling centres are encouraging them and markets selling there robbed tools

'Off to the office to do some paperwork'. Goes and reads Classic Tractor...

HighlandSteam stolen plates most likely, best to lock as much as you can away
Fake or stolen plates
Well john if you find them and the van you have a digger and plenty of land
Does this mean the legend didn't get milk on his corn flakes
Would love to see a video of them reacting to the pump of a shotgun in the quiet of the night lol

Buzzer on the gate might be an idea.
We’ve had battery’s stolen from the same van in Derbyshire.

Loud gate alarms might be worth it ..
I would wait for them and when they are loading their van park a tractor across the gaitway and put their thair van on its side with the forklift
John you are one of the nicest people around. Honest with a caring nature
Plates are stolen, the Reg SP09 WLW comes back as a silver Vauxhall astra, and SP09 WLM doesn’t exist on the dvla system
Electric sliding gate with remote key fobs !.
You should wait and hide next to the gate plant a trap and pull a tractor in front of the gate and trap them in
Dodgy plates on the van comes up as a astra van

Do the coppers enforce no trespassing violators?
Noticed classic tractor magazine on your desk. If you look at the farm favourite section in December issue the ford 8830 is mine
That van will have different plates on now I'll bet.
Should have filled the old tank with slurry, that would have given them a shock, we know who the type are,..
Three dodgey characters in an old transit van looking for car batteries I wonder what sort of tinkers are they 😂😂

Sadly you can get the prison for that over here in the uk also you cant get some of them things
The registration area code for "SP" is dundee in scotland..
We’ve had problems with this van John before John at Sutton as well so keep a eye out on your sheds up there
Ever thought of electric gates? Drivers get keys to open / close them. Could even leave them open and close them if somebody comes in
Its sp09vlm and they seem to be quite famous on facebook.

Sound bad what they did coming round and asking about the batteries and then taking them and saying oh I see you have more batteries sitting

SP09 is perth scotland. Long way from home. Ill keep a looky out as Im perthshire never know might pop up in perth where I live.
Don't pay too much attention to the reg... probably false plates.
After a lease vehicle has come off hire, if that vehicle has been leased in Scotland, usually the are moved to the south to be sold.

Tell Anthony I'll see him at college I'll tell him the issues we had with a white transit man in the summer
Nice video. I will watch out for that van as we have had one near us! Our you going to Lamma? Cheers Henri
The police is a waste of time with this sort of thing, take Tony Martin for instance.
Sorry Jon we get a lot of gipos on the farm
John i never knew you read classic tractor. I bought the latest one today with massey ferguson tractors on the front. The COUNTY Bomford loader article is a good read.
Farmers guide is another good one and it's free
Why did you not lock the batteries away
We have problems with similar types of people down here in Dorset. Hope they get caught.
Sorry to hear your having theft problems. We have people come down the road till they realize it dead ends and turn around and go back out.
John why don't you put the batteries in the workshop or grain shed
Farming Friends
Wouldn't want to risk an acid leak in the grain store I wouldn't have thought
What’s the trespassing laws in England John ?
Darren lee it's don't bloody go on anyone's land unless it's yours
Why are recycling centres taking batteries off them and a lot pay cash to the scum ,recycling centres are encouraging them and markets selling there robbed tools
You a guard dog John get your self a Doberman or German Shepard gypos don't like dogs
Park the tractor by the gates at night that will stop them driving through into your yard.
Seriously if you have CCTV footage you NEED to get the Police involved.
TBJ Gaming at 4K the police are scared of travellers / gypsies and they don't do anything
Its the principle though. I do agree with you but if we all did nothing we would be screwed.
Sad this gives transit drivers a bad name and I hate thieves especially stupid ones daring to nick milk in daylight.
