- In Luv Subbin Episode 273, we travel to Lime Rock Park in Connecticut to attend the spring races of the Porsche Club of America. We see some classic Porsche 911's and 356's and watch the races. We tour the raceway and also see some Lotus sports cars. Of course, since we are boondocking Amp Man makes his appearance.

Back in the late 1980s we were able to camp in the infield at Laguna Seca; I was stationed in Monterey at the time and our unit had volunteered for parking security at the race event that weekend, in exchange for free admission and camping. What a GREAT trip that was.

Cindy & Rich Alabama is home to the Barber’s Motorsports Park where they have the largest motorcycle museum in the world. They have an Indy race in April. It is a great place to watch the motorcycle races as well. Safe travels

Thanks for watching! From the Paris-Dakar to the Targa Florio, nobody does rallies like Porsche (Audi Quattro's gave them a run for the money). We at Airstream will claim the #2 position excepting of course the 1959 Cape Town to Cairo Caravan.
Great to link two great passions and enjoy them both. Someday we may do same at Laguna Seca. I first thought of an RV after seeing an interesting teardrop trailer at one of the vintage events. At the time I was tent camping. An RV sure looked more comfortable!

Was shocked when you said Saugerties, NY. That's my home town! Parents and siblings still live there (brother lives 5 minutes from Rip Van Winkle Campground) and we were just in town this past weekend to visit. I have lived in the Philadelphia area for the last 27 years, about 3 hours away. Since we got our Airstream earlier this year I've looked into that campground since it's the closest to family, passed by it a million times growing up but never been inside the campground. There is a brand new Autocamp just off the edge of the property, accessed from the main road you would've spurred off of just before RVW Campground.
Thanks for watching! The campground was very nice. We're betting that on a warm summer weekend, it is a very busy and fun place. We could certainly recommend it if you are looking for a place to camp near family.

Thanks guys and we're glad you enjoyed the opening. As a preview, having our fridge on gas for 24 hours resulted in the freezer being 17 F and the fridge being 32.7 F. We actually had to turn it up to get the fridge warmer!
Can’t wait for the frig fix I have owned several vw campers with propane fridges the thing that worked for me is 0 modifications keep it stock and theirs the role of death if it is not working at all and has no leaks . I would roll it on all sides 1 hr minimum per side leave it upright for 2 days then we’ll some times 👍😂😂

I assume that was race gas? 😅 You had us for a moment! We’ll attend our first Airstream mini rally this weekend. After a couple of years of camping on our own, we’re looking forward to joining the fray! 🙂
BTW: I run 98 octane ethanol-free Sunoco racing fuel in my paramotor. Almost the same price!

Thanks for watching Camp Fire Rob! Rip Van Winkle was nice. It is a typical full amenity campground that I could see would be VERY popular with families during the summer. For us, we would prefer the peace and quiet of a State Park but if high energy camping fun is what you're looking for, RVW would be a great choice.
