- TODAY'S VIDEO:
Join us today for another un-edited garden tour at, yup, my house. This will be the last one of the season before the frost starts to kill some of the tender annuals and perennials off. Once that happens and we start to cut things back, the garden look will change and it will never look this full and lush again this year.

Can you talk more about the hydrogen peroxide/water treatment you use on your plants that you will be bringing in to your home soon. Love your garden and your show. I’m in zone 5; in the northwest corner of Iowa. Maybe I’ll take a road trip next spring to visit your garden center.
Yes I’d like to know too
Stay tuned for Thursdays video :)
Stay tuned for Thursday's video :)
As always, it was a pleasure to stroll through your beautiful garden with you. 😊
That was great! Loved it❤. Such a huge garden to take care of with everything else you have to do! It easy to see how much you love it, you’re so enthusiastic…
What I really appreciate is hearing your “out loud”planning and your personal reactions to plants. Love that you explain why you’re making the changes you make.
I wish I had half of your energy. Haha you’re amazing.
Wow your garden really grew up so nice! Thank you for the tour!
Learning so much about zone 5 after all my years living in it where have you been so glad I found you❤ beautiful garden🍁🍂🍃
Wonderful!
Hi, Michelle! You absolutely got a lot of gardening done this year!🎉 You're amazing!

Very busy! Looks very beautiful!
Michelle, I always love your videos!
I'm so glad!
Excited to see your shed project as you begin to work on it. Fun. Fun.
You’ve done a lot this season, it’s looking amazing! I’m really looking forward to the newest garden with the newly planted trees. Would love to see how you work through ideas in a new space, and which inspirational ideas you use from your garden tours. Oh, and super excited about your Christmas displays at the garden centre!!
I really enjoyed this! Very natural and loved just looking at it as you walked it! Got ideas from you and nice to see the pluses and minuses just like I have! Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Garden is still beautiful! Your cottage garden grew beautifully! Seems like it was planted just yesterday… time flys…
Great video ❤

I know.....
Hi Michelle 👋 Everything still looks fabulous! 😍 Love your new bed/plantings. And WOW 😮 The cottage garden really did great! And the bed with the new pathway also looks great! I do love that Begonia 😍 I have got to get me the Mini Me Watermelon, love love it! 😍 I am excited to see your She Shed... can't wait 😊 You have done so much gardening this year and I have enjoyed following you. I love Dr. Seuss too. Thank you for sharing. You have so much work to do before the cold hits. You take care. 😊
Just dug out my zinnias. Yours are gorgeous! Your yard still looks great!
yes for only 5 more days
I can't wait until you get started on the She shed
me too...going to try and squeeze in some small chunks of time to get going on it.
Michele, you have a fantastic garden!
Thank you!
I also want to know your recipe for the hydroperoxid. @@gardeningTLC
Thank you for taking the time to film your October garden, Michelle! One of my favorites in your garden is the Callicarpa at 11:00. LOVE those purple berries! I looked up the hardiness zone for Callicarpa and found it's recommended for zones 6-11. Aren't you a zone 5? I know that gardeners can bump up one zone like from 5 to 6 if the perennial or shrub is planted in a protected area and mulched to help avoid winter kill.
I have the pearl glam and it is rated to zone 5. It does die back every year and then re-grows. Did you know you won bulbs...but you never called to claim your prize. I still have them here for you. Call the girls tomorrow 815-633-5100
@@gardeningTLC Oh gosh, I didn't know I won! Fabulous news for the tulips and Pearl Glam! I'll send you my name and address in an email.
Always love your videos 😊
Glad you like them!
Thanks for the tour, Michelle. Enjoyed it. Looking forward to the she shed project.
You and me both!
I learn so much from your channel! When it's time to move house plants in-doors, I worry about pests, temperature change and pruning. How do you prepare your house plants for taking them back inside?
Beautiful garden! ❤
I was so glad to see your video today cause of all the heart wrenching things that have happened with the hurricanes. It was good to see Michelle's garden. I'm excited about your shed project. It's handy that your son-in-law can fix the tractor. We see rabbits in the spring but not after that - -we have hawks. How do you get your plants ready to come in the house?
It is horrible about everything with the hurricane, and another coming.......we have friends in the Carolinas....been rough. Watch this Thursdays episode for the house plants into the house.
Beautiful garden. Great job even when not edited.
Thank you!
Good morning Michelle, or afternoon…my morning! Question on you Baptisia again, cut back or leave for the winter? Eeeeek, frost! Way too soon, not really but I want one more warm month ha! Love your yard, look fabulous!
I cut mine back.
Could you find an area away from your garden. To throw garden seeds and plants that don’t sell (damaged) and create a rabbit bed. They can eat. In hopes that will keep them out of your garden as much. I grow cat mint in hanging baskets so it can get large enough before the cats lay in it. I’ve had one huge patch now 10 years it’s survived the cats. Just an idea for you.
Just worry this video was great. Natural and it’s like we are really walking through the garden with you. Maybe you can do this once a week in the season to save you time and I really like the feel of it.
I do have one of those, but alas I think they like the gardens at my house better. I usually don't have rabbits, as we have fox, coyote, hawks, owls....and they usually take care of the problem.
You definitely was able to get a lot done great job!! How many Cleome did you plant?
1 flat of 10. 4 inch pots
Several questions:
Your grass looks weed free. What do you use on it?
Are your pillar hibiscus related to Rose of Sharon? They look similar. And do you know if I should cut back my new rose of sharon this year? I’ve been told to cut back to 18” x3 years to encourage thicker and fuller stems.
I love your zinnias! I don’t think they’re too big at all! Looking forward to your zinnia blend too!
No, you must be looking thorough green tinted glasses...hahahaha...I have many weeds in my lawn. And yes they are Rose of Sharon Hibiscus. Rose of Sharon needs little to no regular pruning. If you wish to prune, however, late winter or early spring is the best time to do so. Up to one-third of the plant can be removed at a time. If you need to drastically rejuvenate an older plant, cutting back to the ground may be necessary, but be prepared for a less attractive shrub for a couple of years while it regrows
Hi Michelle! love your garden. What are the name of your boxwoods?
In the driveway bed they are Sprinter Boxwoods. Everywhere else they are Winter Gems (My Favorite)
I have total shade, wet soil area in which I need a few shrubs. Besides boxwood, what could I use. Must stay low.
Don’t make it so hard on yourself… just do unedited. It was great.
stump looks like a mushroom
It does...
Are you considering windows or skylights for the red shed?
Not this year, maybe in the future...pretty pricy so we will see.
