OMGosh, Kinsley checking on Cade in his crib...PRICELESS!!! So cute!! I really like the darker, middle color. But you do you!!! We will love it when it is done.
I like the lighter stain, it brings in the muted warmth that your bleached oak furniture has. But that wouldn't play off very well with rattan or aged teak, so you'd have to use iron furniture (unless you use a rug, then it would nicely break it up while remaining cohesive)
The darker stain will hide dirt and other outdoor elements. Less up keep possibility. The colors were lovely either way you go.
Romeo is such a great Dad. So attentive to Cade. You are blessed with two wonderful guys. And Kinsley, oh my gosh, priceless with Cade. Love watching your little family. ❤
I like both stains but the lighter one blends in with the mortar of the bricks so well on camera at least😮 I think it’d look amazing with darker future too❤

I’m in the darker stain camp here, it’ll look so nice with light wood furniture!
Also I know it’ll be a bit before you do the bookshelves but you should see how they look painted the same color as the hood in the kitchen! Nice and light and brings the blue to another place in the house
Definitely the Cordova, makes a beautiful richer statement and has the same hues as your kitchen cabinets.

Make sure to use a coaster under hot mugs on your dining table - I have a table very similar to yours with a wax finish, and if I don't use a coaster then there will be rings on the finish. It does this even with cold drinks - the water can leave a ring mark. So always use a coaster under hot mugs and warm plates!

My husband bought me a coat tree 28 years ago and I still have it. He has passed since 2014 but I always smile when I see my coat tree. I have it in the bathroom now and I have my hand towel and my bath towel on it.
I think the lighter finish on the deck would look more rustic and tie in the French aesthetic with darker metal furniture pieces. Though the darker stain would give a more uniform color backdrop for lighter wicker furniture. Love both ideas
You can plant various herbs in the strawberry pot as well…
Yes! That's what I would do. People also plant succulents in them. Either the Echeverias or Hens and Chicks - they always remind me a bit of big, greenish, fully opened roses (which seems fitting) or lotus flowers - or if you want more color and something that will trail out a bit, you could plant the pot with Portulaca. It's also known as Moss Rose and is often seen in mixed bright colors which might give you a splash of color on your porch and lend a bit of a playful feel. It would also be cute by your pool with your blue pool liner and your yellow accents.

I prefer the Cordovan brown over the lighter shade. It complements the brick beautifully and will be more practical on the porch.

100% go for the brown. You will have such a hard time keeping that lighter stain clean. Also if you change your mind and do a deck primer otherwise it will chip away in one season

Cordovan brown looks more classic and timeless.
I like the darkest one honestly, but my second choice would be the medium one.
The two lighter boards are the same stain, just on boards with different natural coloring.

I've been browsing estate sales near me for almost 2 years to find the perfect coat rack for my entryway; good vintage ones are so hard to find!!!
I like both colours for the deck; however, I think I may like the lighter colour better (only because every footprint will show up on the darker stain, which would drive me crazy). Whatever colour you pick MacCenna, it will look fabulous because you have such good taste. Also, I got so much joy watching Cade’s little face as he was focused on something when you were outside with him. He is adorable.
Wear and tear won’t show up as much on the lighter stain color

I'm leaning towards the darker stain, tbh. Don't forget that you're putting lighter coloured furniture, too, and too much lighter shades will all blend together. There's a difference between making it all cohesive and matching. Match too much, and it all bleeds together to the point of not seeing what ends and what begins.
Definitely the cordovan brown..it compliments the brick and with your cabinetry like you wanted it to do .thats my choice..cant waitevto see the completion..

I like the darker stain with a lighter outdoor rug with a nice seating area. So cozy..the strawberry pot can also be used for herbs.

The strawberry pot can do a great job holding your herbs also, I cleaned out my she shed and found over time I had collected 4 of them. So excited for next summer to use them. The she shed had a wee bit of stuff in it, hahaha!

I agree with your choice of the darker brown. It is richer looking. And overall I think it will tie into what you have in the kitchen as your floor in there is brick, cabinets dark. I would go for the darker especially if you get a build up of dust or dirt over the winter or something that would stain the boards off the planter pots............it does and can happen! ;-)

Just wanted to say a long-time subscriber. I really love your energy and personality. As a father of 4, don't blink they grow so fast that you get 18ish yrs before they are off doing their own thing. Slow life down and enjoy their younger years. we can always work longer before retirement. We can never get the you.ger years back.
Agreed! My boys are now 36, 35 & 34 & I would do anything to be able to go back in time & redo their childhood. I was so busy trying to give them the perfect childhood that I focused on all of the wrong things. I wanted them to live in a nice neighborhood where their friends lived, in a big house where they each had their own bedroom. While these things were great, they weren’t as important as spending time with them. I raised wonderful, kind & happy humans, but I would still do things very differently & have many regrets. I wish somebody would’ve told me to slow down & focus on different things when my children were young. I don’t know if I would’ve listened, but I wish someone had told me!!

I'm really loving the Cordovan brown for the deck stain. I think you'll be happier with it in the long run. The lighter stain was pretty too, but the variation on those two boards alone was quite drastic.

Hello,first I want to say yes Cade is growing so fast. I would suggest buying clothes in a size bigger then he is now, just buy socks, no shoes yet😀 Kinsley is such a good big brother. Oh instead of strawberries, you can also grow herbs in it.
