    *Important*
Don't forget to add an extra 6mm height and width to your Photoshop document, which will compensate for the 3mm bleed in InDesign. This will ensure you will not need to stretch and distort your image.
Also, remember to set up your image and artwork as CMYK throughout

I’ve worked in a promotional products company for the last 20 years, so most of my work is in Illustrator. I’ve been out of the page layout world for so long and it has evolved so much over the years and I want to keep my skills current; so I like that you do some InDesign tutorials too. Keep those coming!

Hi, I know this is such an old comment but I love using Illustrator and am currently learning Indesign. I was wondering what's your job title if you are mainly using illustrator at a company like that? It is just Graphic Designer? I am looking into jobs and would love more roles to look into if I can use Illustrator.

I'm working with InDesign 12 years now. Its NO 1 among the similar DTP programs, for me, best, better than Q-Xpress, or CorelDraw. In the Marks& Bleeds section, we in Croatia use Offset : 3 mm instead of the default 2.117 mm, for press purposes. You have teaching qualities.

A big Hi from India.... Usually English language tutorials face the task of slang......your explanations and sound are superb....Keep it up....8 years of experience in this filed I feel InDesign is a compact form of 2 or more softwares and easy to use for Dtp works.

mmm tbh you got most of it right in terms of file set up, but what kind of booklet are you setting up for, because I can tell you right now if its for saddle stitch you are missing two pages. Saddle stitch booklets need to be divisible by 4 pages and what I saw was a 10 PG document. So technically its an incomplete booklet :( secondly, if you are setting up a file for a saddle stitch booklet (which is what your thumbnail image is), I wouldn't design the front and back page with the full booklet because they will need to be separated from the original file in case you want the cover page to be a heavier weight paper than the inside. 3rd, I would only use bleed for pages that are printed to the edge, if not its useless and will increase your file size. Otherwise if this isn't for a saddle stitch booklet, the file set up you described is fine. The reason why I am bringing this up, because I am a graphic designer in print and countless times I have to fix a customers file for print. There maybe a set up fee depending on where you get it printed so be wary. Knowing what kind of booklet you want should determine your file set up. I would just call a print shop and ask if they can review your file and see if its print ready.

So VistaPrint recently released an option to get these mass printed, and it is not cheap, but I trust VistaPrint because I have used them many times before. The only thing is they say to upload as all separate pages in the PDF file. After you set up the document and built your booklet is there a way to separate the pages so they are all individual? Also do you have any recommendations on getting booklets printed on high quality cardstock paper? Thanks!

Nice video bro, but in the page numbering, i thought since you removed the letter 1 from the cover page, the next page will automatically start from 1, but it didn't, so is there a way to make the next page start from 1? Because i don't think it's right printing it with the page numbering starting from 2.
