  • The Trumcore Vintage Tone trombone mute follows in the footsteps of the classic Solotone mutes of the 1920's and 30's. Designed in wood and fiber material the Vintage Tone offers the classic Solotone sound called for in traditional jazz and popular musicals and offers a new option in the Cleartone/Solotone realm! Take a listen to our review and let us know what you think!

The information about the products in these videos is so useful, but honestly your playing is just so enjoyable I forget what I came here for

Hi Keith. Great video and nice playing! My question to you is, how does this mute compare to an original Shastock Solotone mute?
Have you played one? I have one and it is fantastic. It's close to 100 years old and it's still solid as a rock and sounds amazing. Just wondering if this Trumcor
can offer something the Shastock can't. Thanks, Mike

I'd like it more if it were called "trumandbuglecor"... yeah... I know... I get a little overly nostalgic when the season ends (which the All-Age circuit did last night).

Unfortunately I haven't had the pleasure of putting hands on a 322; however, I seem to see forum posts come up every so often regarding the YBL-321 and 322 and the feedback always seems very positive!

Keith, do you actively play in a band? You whip out some solid improv licks like it's nothin, half the fun of the video is listening to you playing

Thanks for the kind comment! I do a fair amount of freelancing around the Minneapolis-St. Paul area (in fact I am writing this from a cover band wedding reception.). One of the things I love about trombone is how diverse it can be and so I try to keep myself as versatile as possible...
