This has to be my favorite video of yours so far (that I've seen- I'm still playing catch up since I'm new). I loved the script stamp set you used as well as the idea of the flowers cut from the patterned paper. I liked this idea so much that I paused the video and went to find some to fussy cut while I watch more of your videos!
Hello Jillsky oh....and I went to order that stamp set and ended up with it AND another larger one in my cart. It works out well though because it had some mail art stamps that will be perfect for the July 1st fun mail art challenge beginning July 1st!
I don't know much about art, but I have lots of friends who are artists. They use paint, markers, stamps, etc. and they use clear gesso before they start their projects. (Sometimes they use colored gesso for specific background.) They don't want bleed through or blending where they use the gesso. Just throwing that out there. The other thing is that I want to thank you for doing the beginners' videos. I have been hesitant to start. This is helping me to just jump on in! Thank you and God bless you!
"Fussy-cut" - thank you, I now have a way to describe a lot of what I do when Bible-Journaling! My style is very collage-y/scrapbook-y - cards, stickers, washi, stencils, decoupage & other papers. I have yet to try stamping or acrylics but I've seen some great pages done that way. Love the colours on this entry!
Thank you for sharing your work with us. I love your color choices. I'm not sure if it's doable, but I'd love to see you do a video specifically on how you choose the color palettes for each of your page layouts. That skill doesn't come as naturally for me, so my creations are a little on the tame side. I'd love some encouragement and direction in that area!
Hi, Erlyne! That is a great suggestion! I can think about how to communicate that process- sometimes I pull color from a product that I like, maybe a piece of patterned paper or something. I will definitely give it some thought
Thank you! I like how you include speaking of the scripture of your work pages..i was looking for inspiration and seemed not so intouched with it. Until I seen your vid! God bless your work and inspiration! :) keep up the good work
Beautiful Entry! Love the simplicity of it for daily readings when you probably don't have a lot of time but want to represent what you've learned in your bible :) I just started getting into handlettering, but that stamp set is such a nice alternative!! Thanks as always for sharing your beautiful gift!
Yes, exactly! I couldn't think of how to communicate that...doing something simple when you don't have much more than the time to read your bible :) Thanks as always for your sweet words! Looking forward to seeing your lettering on your channel ;)
Here in Brazil, we don't have this type of Bible yet. I mean, the pages of a journaling Bible are thicker than the regular ones, right? So, I've made some test and use modge podge to make my page a little more sealed, so the ink does not leak through the page. I'm glad for your videos, I've been blessed with the word of God, and the talent that you use for His Glory. Bless u.
Hi, Priscilla! I pulled another bible off my shelf to check and the journaling bible pages are marginally thicker than those in my standard bible. The mod podge sounds like a good idea. I'm not sure about shipping costs, but DaySpring.com has several journaling bible options :) Thanks so much for watching and your encouraging words
I really like how u talk about certain scriptures as I've always enjoy hearing others talk about what they've read & their interpretation of it. I was thinking tho that if u mention a certain scripture, u should also put that down in the video description as a reference 4 the watcher but U don't have 2, just a suggestion☺ Thanks!!
Thank you for doing this wonderful demo for us beginning bibel journalers (sp)... I just went to class last night for the first time and while it was fun, I didn't really get any instruction or direction of out it. This is exactly what I am looking to do with my bible!!! Please let me know what kind of paint you used here in your demo and where it was purchased if your remember. I am super excited to start this wonderful style of bible study and I will be keeping you on my video watch-list!!! Warm Hugs, Gale The Happy Stamper :)
Never mind dear - I saw your link with the information regarding the paints - thanks for having the information for us to find so easily. I've already ordered the beautiful stamp set and after I get my chores done today, I am going to go pick up afew pretty paints! Hugs, Gale

Hi, Annie! Yes, gesso is a great option to prevent bleed through. Thank you for sharing and for your encouragement!

Hello Jillsky thank you for explaining.

Hello Jillsky Thanks so much!!
Tres Jolie!!!
Jillsky. So your art doesn't necessarily have anything to do with the verse. Correct?
That is what is holding me back
Nevermind. I love this
Beautiful creativeness. I can barely hear what you're saying. A bit dis appointing in that regard
