Older people dont laugh at what young people do because weve heard/done a lot of it so much that were a bit over it, and the priorities of both groups are different. Like, the fat dude on the slide probably was funny to him not just on face value, but because of how closely it resembles the sort of shit that used to happen to fat hippos in cartoons - theyd get right to the end of the tube then stop it up cause they're too big. And sometimes a tuba would play some kind of "womp" sound. Funny kind of reminder of those gags. And its also funny because he can empathise with how embarrassing that would be as a guy that age having such a comical mishap on camera.
