Places like outside, the subway, public property, etc don’t have reasonable expectations of privacy but somebody’s back yard, a certain business like Walmart, or a church might be very likely to have a reasonable expectation of privacy
it’s not, except in certain places. i know at my towns mall you can’t record or take pictures in but really the most security guards do is ask you to stop and that’s if they even see you

I'm not justify anyone. But like where I live, you can get fined if you are taking pictures or videos of people without their consent as it's an invasion of privacy, unless it's for evidence or protection. You can also get fined if you are recording you harassing someone, or just stand there as a bystander and recording an harrassment instead of stopping it. (Yeah, it's weird how they phrased it, so I did my best to simplify it)

Im pretty sure taking pictures of anyone in public is legal everywhere, its only a breach of privacy to take pictures if theyre in an area where there is an expected standard of privacy. Filming and audio vary by location though, in some places its legal to record phone conversations without consent whereas in other places you have to have consent from everyone on the call for example

I love when they say "you can't film me, that's illegal" because that's just not true. At all. If you are in a public space or a publicly owned building, like a mall, you can absolutely film. It's 100% legal. There may be some stores you can't film in because they are owned by individual businesses, but the mall itself you can film in. I also love how they get mad about being filmed yet they step right in front of the camera...

Depends on any state you are in. In California it is illegal to film someone in an area that you couldn’t assume they would film you.
So I can film you at a mall or convention because by entering you assuming consent to be filmed because it’s public.

but surveillance team won't upload it to social media. for example here in switzerland you can't use dashcams for legal purpose because it would means you recorded people on public space without their consent (witch is not illegal, but since you could also publish it on social media it could be illegal) and before you ask, i'm kinda mad not being able to use dashcam but i also would be mad if some retarded teenagers put me on tiktok or some other trashapp like that without my consent, specially by cuting the context and exposing me wrongly.
there is some very important situations you shouldn't post strangers on social media, like witness protection, or victim protection. it's not only about respect others privacy (even if this point should matter enough)

I've been a skateboarder for a little over 15 years. I'll level with ya, it does cause property damage more often than not, a lot of skaters get loud as shit when they can't land a trick or finish a line, they'll start yelling "fuck", accidentally hit someone's shin with a board when they fall, and open owners of property up to lawsuits if these skaters get hurt on their property.
I think this would easily be solved by having more designated areas allocated to skateboards/bikes/scooters, but I get how this would be a huge trigger for a karen.
