Excellent video. Straight forward without a lot of useless talk like on many of these how to do it videos. Thank you.
You are very welcome. I always find it an irritating job to get the battery strap on an off. Skäl David
I love my 2007 Classic. I need to change my battery soon. Thanks for the tutorial
Thanks. This is one of my favourite bikes! Skäl. David
you cant beat Motobatt batteries Dave, they are brilliant, they also have a slightly higher amperage for easier cranking.
Cheers Chris, yes, the cranking ability was one of the things that decided me on this one. I've been running one for a while now on the 1200 Bandit and never had an issue.
good job Dave , i do like that bike , every time you show it i think Hmmmm I,m only one step away from the inevitable cruiser...just get some time in ,on the xjr then next stop lower longer louder !! take care brother ..peace and love !
Cheers as ever. If you are ever tempted by an XVS, I'd recommend an 1100 as the 650 is massively underpowered.
Mirius's Shed
Yeah you know me it would have to be the bigger end of the scale , my mate had a 650 then got the 1100..i was really admiring the shape and form of the bike or any cruiser to be honest...i feel my xjr is as low heavy and powerful as you can get without being a cruiser si when the fun wears off with that one i rekon itll be the next logical step...cheers buddy take care ☮❤
Nice one Dave. Amazing the difference that a new battery can make. You're a braver than me, working outside!! Hah. Take it easy, Al. 😉
Cheers Al, I'm really happy as it was the one real downside of the bike. Can't wait to start losing some weight off it with a little bobber build.
Mirius's Shed I get you. I put a 1100 battery in my 750, but have thought of going Motobatt. Ah, you're going bobbing it. Cool, look forward to seeing that. 😉
It's why I chose the XVS. Because it's a 'softtail' I won't need to strut the rear shocks because it looks like a hardtail whilst I keep the comfort of the monoshock.
Mirius's Shed Yeah, I know what you mean. And they've got a lot of potential for bobbing. I put hardtail struts on mine & springs on the solo seat.
Yes, I follow you on Instagram so I'm familiar with what you've done. I'm looking to do something similar when I get to it, so for now I'm using bikes like your for inspiration.
Well done again, what was the accessories switch? Usb or something, how do you get access to it n the go?
Thanks for another great video.
Thanks Buck. That was just the power cord for my heated gloves. For short runs I use batteries but for longer runs or colder weather I plug them into the bike. So in this case I just plug in before I set off. I'm only wiring them direct to the battery because they are fused and because they only draw power when I'm sitting on the bike. Wiring direct to the battery is otherwise just asking for the accessory to run the battery flat with the ignition off or at worst overheating and catching the bike on fire.
Job's a goodun, still chilly outside eh :)
Thanks Dave. It chucked down hail just after I'd got it back in the shed. Brrrr!
A lot of planes in the area ;) Airport nearby?
More planes than you hear in the video - most I edit out or wait for them to go over.
Hi did u have to charge that battery first?
No need, it comes fully charged, as do most batteries.
Hi David
Good Video
I see your out in the elements
It's cold out there.
Is that the same battery that the Xt600e uses?
How much do they sell for?
Cheers garry
I have a xt600 like yours
Cheers Gary, it's certainly nippy and that was as long as I wanted to be outdoors. I suspect it's very similar size battery. I bought mine from Wemoto, and they sell one for the XT600e for about £50 including postage. www.wemoto.com/bikes/yamaha/xt_600_e/90/picture/battery_motobatt_sealed_high_torque/
The fuses box needs to be fixed in the right place.
It doesn't like to sit in it's proper place, but it is fine where it is.
After that bit of useless Waffling Rubbish my nerves were gone and i had to see a Therapist......
Sounds like a sound investment of your time.
