asian styling has always been esthetically pleasing and calming. I don't think it is cultural appropriation, but rather cultural appreciation. I am inspired by my own eclectic pan-asian/fusion home decor. I mix Japanese, Chinese, indian, and Thai into a eye pleasing color pallet of cinnabar, teal, and yellow all to act as an anchor for a very large 3 piece over the couch painting. to me, you can stay traditional or go for fusion. to each their own, and that's what also makes it fun. thanks for more ideas from this video. cheers.

GREETINGS FROM DALLAS TEXAS USA 🇱🇷WHOA! CLUTCH MY PEARLS...I HAD NO IDEA DECORATING HAD BECOME A TOUCHY SUBJECT. I DECORATE FOR MY EYES. I PUT UP A PICTURE ON THE WALL WHETHER ITS A CHINOISERIE VASE OR A CACTUS...IF I LIKE IT... IT STAYS ON THE WALL. ITS MY HOME. I PERSONALLY LIKE EVERYTHING CHINOISERIE.
YOU CAN INCOMPORATE 1 OR 2 PIECES IN WHICHEVER DECOR IS CHOSEN..I THINK IT ENHANCES ANY SETTING. ... THAT'S MY 2 CENTS.

I've always loved vintage Asian interiors. I can't explain why, but I've always been drawn to it. I've never been to Japan or China. I hate when people get political about it. I really dislike the sometime cheap cheesy run of the mill type of this decor. But please, I only see it as complimentary to those countries.

I liked the perspectives you shared in this video. Interestingly, when i went to Turkey, they had the largest amount of Chinese pottery, outside of China. This was due to trade during the Ottoman empire. I think it becomes appropriation when there is oppression and an attitude that discredits the skill required to create the crafts.

As a person that is half japanese, and knows many japanese people both living in Japan and in Europe, I just want to mention how bizarre the whole cultural appropriation thing is. Why on earth would anyone from a different ethnic background be offended by someone else decorating their home in that style?? As long as they didn’t go to YOUR home and steal the stuff, what is the problem? It seems like some people just need things to get mad about and try to dictate what other people can and can’t do. The Japanese people I know are only happy and proud when people with other ethniticies dress, garden, cook or decorate in japanese style. We know full well that anyone racist against Asians would NEVER do that. The sensitivity surrounding cultural appropriation seem to be a very American concept. And I can’t speak for japanese people in the States who might be influenced by the outrage. But I think that for many looking on from the outside, it really seems odd.

I'm part Chinese and also am bewildered by the western notion of Cultural Appropriation and honestly how stupid it is. My children are also mixed raced and look more western than myself, my youngest is blue eyed, porcelain skin, brown hair and always wears his Red Brocade Chinese jacket for Chinese New Year when we eat out. Have had no problems so far !!!!

I’m sure the artists who created these works of art would not say no anyone that wanted to purchase it.
