I bought my first Oriental rug new fifty years ago. It is in perfect condition and shows no sign of wear. I have other rugs that are over 100 years old that I keep on the floor and that will outlast me and probably my son and grandson. Each of my rugs is as worthy of study as, say, a fine painting. Whenever I move into a new house, the rugs adapt well and ease the decorating process. The only drawback of having Oriental rugs is that you have developed an addiction that makes you want to acquire more.

I was able to purchase a wool hand knotted Torkman Kargai carpet with bright purple, blue, mustard, tan, organelle colors that really stand out while stationed in Saudi Arabia. I really love it.

Loved you video. I lived for in Asia for 7 years and recently returned to the US with a few beautiful Asian rugs. One friend said - "Oh, that's go to go". I love our rugs - one is very large and bright. Your video gave me the confidence to stick with what I love and to bring in some blue and cream with our red asian carpet. Many thanks... Now, I'm looking at kitchens.

Yes, I prefer these rugs because of the quality and very low profile. Actually, older 'Oriental
rugs (especially Persian rugs) are often more valuable than brand new rugs. : ) These rugs are heirlooms and never lose their beauty.

I came across a plush and beautiful black, cream, gold, etc. rug, and I was trying to figure out if it would work in my mid century modern home. Thanks for answering my questions with this video 😊

Hi and thanks for watching! That rug sounds beautiful, I think it would work really nicely in an MCM especially depending on the furniture that you place with it. I would definitely go for wooden furniture with that MCM vibe to set it off.
