Titans rookie linebacker James Williams was a 7th round pick by Ran Carthon this past April and has an outside chance of contributing right away. Williams is converting from safety to linebacker and that hybrid role could be valuable in Titans defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson’s scheme. Dane Brugler’s scouting report: “With his long, stretched-out frame, Williams has the versatility to cover and be a force player versus the run. However, his game lacks discipline and polish, and he is often caught overrunning responsibilities, against both run and pass. Overall, Williams is more of a tweener athlete than a seasoned football player, but he is a full-throttle enforcer with a unique skill set that will intrigue several NFL defensive coordinators. He projects best in a Robber/Cover-3 scheme and offers versatility in subpackages to blitz or match tight ends.”

in week 3 when jamal adams is hurt for the rest of the season i believe that james williams will fill in great at jamal adams dime package line backer role. and i honestly believe elijah moulden is better than others think. he should have starting safety locked down and given his shot for another season at least
