The funnest ride I've ever been on. It's not just the curves. It's not just the lack of STOP signs. It's not just there are almost no intersections. It is fucking beautiful wild. The next bend is more wow than the last. Meat Cove is not all paved. It's not really part of the trail, but it is a very fun ride. But you can do the whole trail in one day on pavement.
What a gem of a video! I am born and raised in Sydney NS. You didn’t stop at the worlds largest fiddle and drove right by. There are many known reports of people travelling to Sydney NS whereas they thought they booked a trip to Australia! Go figure! 😅
Kinga. You and bridges... I rather see more bridges tha fiddles... And the opra-house was nice. Even a little small. hehe. Thanks for shering and keep rolling.
Was always just called a “bandshell” around here. Was pretty popular back in its day, only the last few years they have been getting back into it in the summer months with local bands calling it “makin waves festival”
From Sydney (Oz) to Sydney (Canada). Both with opera houses ;-) These lovely Canadians gave you useful camping equipment and you take a room ;-) ?! All the best, enjoy the Newfies. Günter, Nürnberg/Germany
Two more things (because I can't edit my previous comment anymore): First, at 17:44 you get a good look at Sydney's Giant Fiddle. It's on the peir to the left of the building there. It has a flag at the top of it. Second, to answer your post-credit question as to why cheticamp has no trees or fences it's because that side if the island gets ridiculously windy, and even worse during hurricanes. So, its a self preservation thing not to have too many things that can be blown over near your home. It has an average normal day wind speed of 20 kmph, and its record wind speed was 233 kmph. Storms get from 120 to 150 kmph. It's the windiest place in Canada.
Another great video! Thanks. The Cabot Trail is epic! I camped a Meat Cove, and it was one of the nicest evening of my East Coast trip! Did you eat at the seafood truck? Lawless Lobster?
Love the Opera House..... kinda cute..... Great ride Kinga.... Thanks for taking me to where I have never been before....... You are a star.... :-)) xxx
Your question about why no trees around those houses (along west coast, near Cheticamp), I was curious after driving the trail many times myself. I think the answer is due to the extremely high winds the area gets, due to the particular location and terrain. Locally called suetes (from 'sud est', French for south-east) the winds come down the steep slopes off the highlands plateau at over 200 km/hr. Great channel! Looking forward to your next videos as I did Newfoundland ferry, then north and westward across the Labrador highway last Aug. If you ever came across a small black bear east of Churchill Falls that had motorcycle tire tracks across its back quarters, that was done me at 70 kph (and we both survived)!
The Cabot Trail looks MUCH better from a moving motorcycle. Standing still in a strong wind kinda diminishes the fun. And YES, Chilie does present an excellent profile! Stay safe, dry and warm.
One of the most premier rides in North America. Done a couple dozen times in my wonderful life. Pleasant Bay, Cape Rouge Meat Cove, St Margrette's Black Brook, all wonderful Watch out for moose. The bugs no seeum's are so damn bad you can't come out in the summer. Newfoundland is great.
On your next lap around the world when you're though 😎, be sure to go along the south shore east from Halifax (107, 207, 7, etc) 'round to the causeway and over Cape Breton.
Stumbled across your channel & to my surprise there was Jerry from Halifax! You couldn't have found a nicer fellow biker who helped you out in your time of need. My guess would be he told you to stay in Meat Cove, knowing your style of adventure bike travelling. Living in Sydney, I rode the Cabot Trail with him & his brother (who lives at the other end of the country). The bike I currently ride I bought from Barrie at RPM Cycle. Small world to say the least! lol Safe Travels.
@@onherbike Yes he is! I often tell the story of a group ride I was on with him to PEI. He managed to fix one of our rider's Harley (which broke down) using robbed parts from a camper trailer at the campground at which we were staying! lol
I plan on going back there in a couple of years on my motorbike. You should add some of the cultural events to your videos. There’s a fantastic traditional celtic music scene in Cape Breton and there is Louisburg, which a historic site from the French Indian war. You are inspiring me and making me anxious to go touring. Thanks for the videos and safe travels.
I am sure I will remember you when I visit those beautiful places you have been to. I still would like to know what I won. I hope by then I have a means of reaching you. Havea nice trip!
i put one of my old youtube decals up in the meatcove office years ago..... love that place and the staff are always super friendly.
I'm Japanese.Your video is exiting!
welcome to my beautiful province, always nice too see others enjoy what we some times take for granted.
Born and raised in Sydney.
I've been over our beautiful Cabot Trail many times! Thank you for filming this!!

Kinga gracias por hacerme viajar 😘
Saludos nuevo seguidor de la ciudad de mexico
Again a nice video from an unknown part of Canada, thanks and groetjes uit Nederland
One of the stars of Canadian roads!
Drove there last year from hamilton when i had some time off! The cabot trail, meat cove, inverness beach, such beauties!
I laughed @ 6:11 when you said “I don’t want to miss the campground” because it’s literally the only thing in Meat Cove lol cool video!!
Kinga. You and bridges... I rather see more bridges tha fiddles... And the opra-house was nice. Even a little small. hehe. Thanks for shering and keep rolling.
The important thing is to keep the enthusiasm and continue to make the next video I always wish you good luck travel camping
Our favourite spot.
Love seeing my province through the eyes of others. Ride safe.

Thank-you for showcasing my beautiful ancestral home of Cape Breton and one of my favourite rides. Your channel rocks!
Thank you 😊
Hi friend, cảnh đường đi đẹp quá bạn, chúc bạn có chuyến đi vui vẻ
So cool
I'm always rooting for you.❤
لقلبك السلام والحب ❤️
The wind really takes a lot of the fun out of it. The hair looks great. Glad to see you're recovering from the theft. Thanks, Kinga!
Ok 👌👍 super bien Kinga
❤ Love all, love videos, love road ❤
Glad you did Neil’s Harbour, a lot of bikes miss that little trip around.
Cape Breton is the shinning jewel of our Province, enjoy(well I should say enjoyed as I know the weather now and this is the past lol) and ride safe!
Dziękuję za piękny film. Pozdrawiam z Polski.

Beautifull track and i like this video
Absolutely great road trip as always 🙂
I did the Capot Trail back in -01 on a rented Harley. Fantastic. Want to do it again on my own Beemer. Great clip, Kinga. :)
Awesome road trip. Thanks for sharing
just catching up on some older ones and not sure if you seen Queensland outside Halifax...very popular beach there.
Another great video!
Thanks.

@@onherbike You are most welcome Kinga.... :-)) xxxx
So cute these comparisons between the two Sydney.
Just editing my own trip around the Cabot Trail when this came into my feed. Great to watch you on this iconic Canadian ride.
Super view 😘
Darn, you could have rode your bike down to the beach at Meat Cove and camped for free! Went right by our place too. Happy trails!
Thanks once again for the video Kinga! Nice area to visit and nice to see.
20:18 I think it's because trees can fall over onto houses, and fences can cause snow to build up against the house or driveway.

Piękne widoki!!! U Ciebie Kinguś lato a u nas zaczyna się zima ;-((

Sydney Canada looks like the Cargo Kult version of Sydney Australia, in a way.
متابع من العراق السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته كل التوفيق أن شاء الله 🇮🇶🇮🇶🇮🇶🇮🇶❤❤👍❤👍❤👍❤
I have stayed at the meat cove camp ground before. very nice place but I see the price has jumped up. Take care

@@onherbike I admit I cannot see or know all!😁

Someday for sure 😉
greetings n respect mate take carw
It looks not cold there ?
Not a lot of people know but both opera houses were designed by the same person. True story :)
😂😂😂😂
I think the Candian one was just practice project but the designer really picked up his game for Sydney one😆
@@onherbike haha possible 😂
Hello kinga I need go with you? ?
I see in the Sultanat of Oman after taim 😎😎
Was there an opera house in Sydney Canada?
Not anymore. The kangaroos took over and we didn't know they can't sing.
😂😂😂
Operahuset i Sydney er tegnet af den danske arkitekt Jørn Utzon,
tvivler på, at han har været i Canada først for at øve 😊
I'm travelling USA next June July time 2023

Since John Denver crashed, it just doesn't warrant the seating.
