What if I have connected an optical device on the output?
Yes, I have the same problem. I am using optical but I can't change the volume. My old TV let me send PCM over optical, with volume control.

If it helps if you go to advance there is an option of SPDIF if you enable that it works the digital audio

I just got a 43-inch TCL P638 with Google TV, I have the optical output in the back of the TV but I don't have the optical output among the menu choices shown in this video. I tried to connect a DAC and a small amplifier but without being able to choose the output... Quite a paradoxical situation.

@@rocker10039 Yes, simply plug in the optical cable and select 'auto' in the audio outputs. Works.
@@giovenri i tried man, I also selected PCM after but it didn't work
@@rocker10039 Sorry, I'm using a Ultimea soundbar right now and it works perfectly with the optical connection. It probably depends on the receiving device.
