Yeah! Bravo! 👍 Great choice of song. Me & my brother have seen ex W.A.S.P. guitarist Chris Holmes in concert few months ago. Of course this song has been played. And also Animal, that is a song that W.A.S.P. don't play live since many years... Too obscene for a religious person like Blackie Lawless has become! 😬 ...I tend to not understand those artists (not only in music) that let religion change them to the point of making them disavow some of their previous works... 🙄 Greetings!
Absolutely agree with the religion topic. You can still be a believer and play those songs, and I'm pretty sure even the church wouldn't be bothered by it at all. Ozzy Osbourne is Christian and he writes songs about Satan and Hell. 🤷
@@dannysoler05 Yes, and Tom Araya is a devout Catholic believer and yet he has sung for all his career in Slayer a lot of songs about Satan, Hell, Antichrist, antichlerical... various serial killers, murders, Nazism, vampires, necrophiliac, dismemberments... 😬 It's true that the satanic lyrics (and also those against the Church) were not written by him (those were written by Kerry King mostly), but Araya has said many times that it was not a problem for him to sing such lyrics. Like an actor who play a part, he kept things separated. While there are some, much more fanatic I think, that absolutely would not tolerate such situation.
Hey, I saw WASP play in 2022 here in the States and they played Animal! Blackie apparently set aside his religiosity because he railed against the increasing censorship here right before they started the song. It was amazing. They will be playing their entire first album here this autumn as well so we will see if they play Animal again.
@@RecMike I have just finished watching the video on UA-cam. Thank you! I had not noticed it yet, and in truth I would have never thought that song would have returned on their setlist, with Blackie being so religious... Great thing that W.A.S.P. have played that song again! It's one of their classics, and a great song. And I am totally against censorship! Every kind of censorship, particularly that stupid "politically correctness", "woke" or whatever they call it...! With all the real problems that the world has, it's more than absurd that some people nowadays worry too much about words... Freedom can be endangered! Greetings from Italy!
