@@nellekx I'd suggest that "most musicians can do this" is a bit of a stretch. Lots of musicians can, but there's also a huge amount of vocalists who only play when they are not singing, or only sing when the instrument's rhythm matches the song's cadence. I think the majority of musicians fall into the same camp as me. There are certain songs I can happily sing over whilst there are others where the guitar part and the vocals are so rhythmically detached that it's still impossible.

It is amazing that he can sing and play guitar melodies at the same time.
most musicians can do this
@n3llybean You mean the melodies? I can also play chord strums while singing, but I think it is rare to play melodies like he does.
@@bombit9 it's not rare, it just takes practice. If you master playing the melodies first, it will be simple to add vocals later on.
@@nellekx Oh! Thanks for the advice. I should try that later!
October 2021. Raining heavily outside and I'm glad that UA-cam recommended this tonight. Loved every strum, beat and note of it.
Love from, Penang, Malaysia.
It’s October 2022 and I’m watching this while it’s raining heavily!
I’ll be back next October to add to this… see you next year!
@@TheIronManOfSteel I'll be right here waiting for you! It's the 4th of November, 5 p.m. now. 🙂

November 2022, also snow and also great atmosphere created because of this song. Love from west Kazakhstan:]
tony sold our other instruments
+Someone else oh my gosh i thought i was the only one!
Tony is dead man. Just read it that’s how I ended up here
@@kevinpoynter3277 F
ooof thanks for the laugh! haven't jad one this good in weeks
We need Tony!!!!!
The percussionist is literally the unsung hero here.
Sometimes we feel that some musics didn't were created, but were always there, ready, just waiting for someone to , somehow, discover it.
What a magnificent sound.
Can't believe this is the first time I've ever seen this gem after all these years! I hope they're still jamming together.
the band is Walk off the Earth. they are still together and making music, but the guy on the right Mike Taylor died in 2018
I just discovered them too!
I've been watching this for nearly 10 years and I still enjoy the hell out of it, every time! It looks like we've got 774 people up there ^ who have real talent, though LOL
*"I think we've got it."* Dumbledore exclaimed enthusiastically.
Genius!!! Why have I never seen this or heard of them?!?!
***so sad to hear that one of them has passed.
After nine years, still the best cover
From Syria with respect and love
Give the original people some love!
The band is Walk of the Earth and the video is 5 peeps one guitar. Go give them a like and support them directly!
Off*
10 years later, still the most unique and beautiful cover on the internet!!
I'm here 11 years later rewatching this. Thank you youtube for bringing me back here.
Now and then I think of when we were together
Like when you said you felt so happy you could die
Told myself that you were right for me
But felt so lonely in your company
But that was love and it's an ache I still remember
You can get addicted to a certain kind of sadness
Like resignation to the end, always the end
So when we found that we could not make sense
Well, you said that we would still be friends
But I'll admit that I was glad it was over
But you didn't have to cut me off
Make out like it never happened and that we were nothing
And I don't even need your love
But you treat me like a stranger and that feels so rough
No, you didn't have to stoop so low
Have your friends collect your records
And then change your number
I guess that I don't need that though
Now you're just somebody that I used to know
Now you're just somebody that I used to know
Now you're just somebody that I used to know
Now and then, I think of all the times you screwed me over
But had me believing it was always something that I'd done
But I don't wanna live that way
Reading into every word you say
You said that you could let it go
And I wouldn't catch, you hung up on
Somebody that you used to know
But you didn't have to cut me off
Make out like it never happened and that we were nothing
And I don't even need your love
But you treat me like a stranger and that feels so rough
And you didn't have to stoop so low
Have your friends collect your records
And then change your number
I guess that I don't need that though
Now you're just somebody that I used to know
Somebody (I used to know)
Somebody (Now you're just somebody that I used to know)
Somebody (I used to know)
Somebody (Now you're just somebody that I used to know)
Somebody
Thank youu
10 years! I can't believe I missed this all those years ago....masterpiece, absolutely brilliant. Well done guys!
Nostalgic... I remember watching it in 2013... good old times bro
by the way, rest in peace beard guy 🥺❤️
11 years later... Way better than the original... Truly a Masterpiece
I saw this video when it was first uploaded when I was very little, so naturally I assumed that these people were just the ones who made this song and every time I would think of this song and hear it for the last 8 years I’d think of this video. I love this song and it touches a very satisfyingly nostalgic place in my heart.
I saw this when it came out and I come back to it so often after all of these years. A masterpiece on UA-cam and a proper cover.
12 years later, I still love watching them perform.
Rip beard guy
“You can get addicted to a certain kind of sadness,” isn’t that the truth . Here in 2020🖤
Dude
Yea 😞
2021 can't be worse though... Right?
lol someone tryed to cool 2020 any? go home.
Definitely a good lyric, memorable. 🌿
💯
Yes
Totally under stand it
Да мне не дано этого понять, но песня все ещё великолепна.
How neat would it be to get six people together to play Rush E on one piano?
Some songs never get old and this is a great version of this one...
This is lovely. Is that their real voices?
I was waiting to see the most-right guy to tune the guitar while they keep on playing
The fella on the right is rocking his baby strings
they showed me me this in music class 4 years ago (in 4th grade) and I just now found it. like damn
The real Slim Shady same except i was in 8th grade
I am a substitute teacher. I would love to show this to some 4th graders, but in this day and age, would it be appropriate? Lyrics and all?...
@@mghewitt1 yes
Faded Demons they did to mine a month ago
And its been 8 years now
When i record my guitar, its like at least 15 shots before i make one that is perfect, cant imagine the dedication of 5 people playing ONE SINGLE GUITAR perfectly for a 4 minute long video. I can say that they put a lot of effort into this
👍👍
HOW HAVE I NOT SEEN THIS MASTERPIECE BEFORE?!?!?! This is incredible!!!
Смотрел около 6 лет назад, это был первый раз когда я услышал эту песню, и по сей день она оставляет во мне только положительные эмоции)
It's been 11 years and still this is my favorite video on UA-cam.
To think Mike Daws played this single handedly is mind blowing
i like how the long haired dude just screams out somebody
Screaming into the future cuz this is a old video
Great performance but above all another testament to the sheer genius arrangement and writing in this song. A true pop masterpiece.
Damn... its been 11 years since we came to know Walk of the Earth. Cool to see again.
This is amazing. The amount of connectivity you have to have with each other here is ridiculous. So cool.
This is the only cover I've seen on the internet which is so good as the original one ❤️✌️
Better actually than the original
First to Eleven - Teenage Dirtbag
Mostly cause the guy in the original has a really annoying voice.
Wait a minute, this is not the only one that's as good or better than the original. Listen to Johnny Cash's version of hurt. Or disturbs version of The sound of silence. Then check out Warren Haynes version of U2's song one. I think you'll find masterpieces in those three. And those are only off the top of my head.
9 years ago my father showed this to me.5 years ago i listened the original song and said " i heard it ". 2 years ago i came to here and listened it. This music is my memory. Now i am here because i need to remember good times.
Dude, this is amazing!!! How did I miss this when it came out???
I'm so glad this popped up here. I've been thinking about this. Still the pinnacle of talent for a cover, even 10 years later.
I gotta admit, this is the best sounding version I’ve here is. Love it
Bruh UA-cam recommended it to me 10 years later...
12 years later, UA-cam decided to recommend this to me
its been 10yrs and this guys are still the legends
Hello baby how are you doing ❤️❤️♥️♥️❤️❤️
11 years after my kids introducing me to this, it popped into my head all over again. Classic new(er) rock.
1:45 Being a sound engineer, damn, does no reverb kill this, other than that, amazing, you 5 are very talented!
12 years ago I was drinking and gettin high daily. I am sober now but I always remember this magnificent peace of music.
The middle guy’s eyebrows rising in perfect timing with the large jump to a high register
I love and admire artists who don't just copy. Having the idea for it is unique, arranging it accordingly is artistically challenging and making it look and sound so easy shows that all 5 are excellent musicians. At least 3 of them are also top singers. A masterpiece.
Members of this band are very talented, in all their songs creating diff. sounds from weird instruments..love it.
