Really interesting to hear what she sounded like before she became a huge star. IT's amazing many of these songs were never re-worked and re-recorded when she became famous by a big studio
She followed Blondie's footsteps at Max's and CBGB. Blonde broke out of the underground scene, while a lot of real punk music did not. Even the Ramones, they only ever made enough money to go on another tour and continue making music.
@treasuretrove3000 Yeah a few songs, like this one, are a lot stronger than her 1st record release. I wish she had been closer to her "Rock" roots with that release, but I guess what she wouldn't do musically (at that time) she made up for in her attitude/persona. She's a rocker at heart.
- Madonna played Max's Kansas City twice with Emmy... Here they sound tame and 'new wavish', but live they were more like Nine Inch Nails or Ministry. No wonder her handlers fired the band, and put her in front of a generic disco outfit.
Amen to that, brother! Would love to see more of that footage that was shot for "In Artificial Light" that was shown (brfiefly) in BTM and Naked Ambition. Somebody's gotta have it somewhere...
Madonna, you would want to spend this 16 Emmy & the Emmy tracks on Cd, and that this cd via Bol. com can buy hail - René Jansen Your biggest fan forever and, uh, very much strength with your knee injury hopefully, you'll soon be better
the still photo is amazing she looks so classy, my God!

This song had me about 5 seconds in. Love her voice & guitar work
She is a great artist.
Me encanta este tema
Interesting how in only a year or so she went from singing punk music to this early unique 80's song ("Drowning")
I love this song!
i love the song it should have been released
Reminds me of Blondie
I can dig it ✨💃

How LUCKY are you to have seen Emmy live. SOUNDS AMAZING describing Emmy as Ministry meets Nine Inch Nails live, how FAB!

This was before she met her vocal engineer. She's really overworking her voice and breaking up. It's interesting.
