We always thought the new additions were a bad idea from the start, Princess needs to stick to their core passengers wants and needs and leave water slides, surfing machines and climbing walls to other cruise lines.
They were very divisive from the off John. We personally didn't mind them when we were on there, but we do get why others didn't want them, and to leave it to the likes of Royal, Carnival, P&O and NCL to do that.
Love by Britto reduced price to $79 per person!! we booked it twice for our 14 day Nov 2024 Sun Princess cruise. Bram at Sea did great review on UA-cam.
That is crazy that they have virtually half priced it, and well done on getting it booked twice at that price. It does look really good, we finally saw a video last night (Bram at Sea).
We just got off the Ruby Princess. My first cruise so beautiful and suited me just right. Signed up for Noordam (Alaska), Island Princess (Panama) and Diamond Princess (Japan) I will take the smaller older ship. 74 years old. No big ships for me
So glad you enjoyed Ruby Linda. Ship sizes are always something that comes up when we speak to people about cruising. We have been on smaller ships that are harder to get around for people than bigger ones though, as modern cruise ship design tends to cater (or have space to cater) to people far better, and have more lifts, slopes (for easier or wheel chair access) and more accessible room too. And often the people flow of the bigger ships is better too. Having said that, we love a mid size ship (QM2/Regal Princess).
I understood it was a NCL excursion, the family was out $21,000 total out of pocket and NCL has said they will cover all the costs as it was their fault. The family is from Oklahoma, where I live, so I saw the story on our local TV station. The father was telling the story.
It was Mike, you are right. When the story broke, it was suggesting a third party excursion, but it makes it even worse when you consider it was NCL, and then the fine and out of pocket expenses.
So we understand, the initial reports were of a third party. It being an official one makes it even worse, especially with the fine. Apparently NCL have now refunded them everything, plus out of pocket which according to the latest stories was nearly $21000, which is crazy.
Here’s my theory. Unlike other Carnival branded ships which are flagged under more lax Panamanian and Bahamian registration. Sun Princess is flagged under Bermuda (British territory) and subject to stricter health and safety rules. Other Carnival Excel class ships can get away with a regular inspection and certification while Princess cannot.
It's not that problematic when you are on Heather, they have just had an awful lot of challenges getting it to where they want it, and then changed what they want once it launched too, which we can't think of that happening to any other ship, Princess or others. It really wouldn't stop us going on it again though.
My goodness! That music makes me think you'd throw the pier runners to a pit of snapping crocodiles! 😆
Us, never!😂 We'd be the ones cheering them on to make the ramp.
great video, love watching your travels!

The Alaskan excursion was an NCL excursion, not third party and they still left them.

Oh that's an interesting theory!
❤❤
The ship is expensive to be problematic.
