      I loved to use apps, QR codes and all that stuff. Two things changed my love.
      - one time I got sick abroad, had to be admitted, and later the travel health insurance wanted me to show my boarding passes ... could cover the demand with alternative proof, means immigration/emigration stamps in my passports, but still ... means since then I still love to use apps for domestic flights but prefer printed versions on international travels.
      - Coronavirus. The destination countries ask now usually for printouts of any entry applications made online, vaccination certificates, PCR tests and what not. Digital is fine in some cases but in others printouts are required since they keep one during immigration or make stamps/remarks on others during immigration process which are later in the process required/controlled. In order to proove the fact that the pax has it all correct, my preferred airline 1) doesn't allow me to get my boarding pass online/printed out by myself and 2) wants to check all these extra papers at the counter before handing me over a printed boarding pass. Last week they even checked all these papers not only at the check-in counter but a second time at the gate itself. Best I can get done online is currently a confirmation for online check in but I have to go to the counter for getting the boarding pass. So it makes not even much sense to check in online at all.
      These corona paper issues are also the reason why I do not use travel wallets in the moment. I find it currently more convenient to keep all these papers (for 2 of us) together with passports and boarding passes (and rail&fly train tickets printed on A4) in a simple A4 plastic cover (the type closed with a button). Which fits in the rucksack right in front of the laptop, easy to grab.

    Since they are "travel wallets" I found neccesary to remind people that wearing your wallet as a sling or with a strap in any big city is a REALLY bad idea. Worst of all, some of them seem to be designed to be used like that! I understand that use case if you live in a suburb and move from your car to a store and that's it but these are TRAVEL wallets. Greetings from a Latin American guy.
    EDIT: Btw I find it useful to wear a hip or fanny pack that you can hide. That's what I'm using as it's very comfortable

      @Melomoo how are they going to snatch it if it’s around your body. Unless it’s only on a shoulder like a purse. Or they just follow you until you put it down somewhere.

    My suggestion is to take a look at the Fjallraven Ovik. It has a zipper to ensure nothing falls out. It can take 2 passports, 6-8 cards, spare international cash (folded) and a pen. Been using it for a few years. Love it!!

    Sim card opener is very necessary when traveling, 2019 I arrived on a trip at 11 pm in my small town, it was the last flight, and I had to change the sim card to the local sim card and call an uber, there was no opener , I had a hard time finding an object to open the damn compartment to change the card. And something I don't forget anymore.

    Zero grid makes another, smaller wallet ,which is really good as well. Been using it for a few years now, and really happy with it.
    The only issue, really, is that putting your passport and other stuff together, can be problematic if you lose the wallet, or if you get mugged.

    • @PackHacker
      @PackHacker  2 роки тому +2

      Hi Cavush! Some of our pros bring a smaller, EDC option on their trips with them to use once they get to their destination. You would just need to leave your passport at your accommodation (preferably locked away in a safe). Thanks for the comment!

    I purchased the Code of Bell product as a travel-through-the-airport wallet. Problem is that it's too short to fit a boarding pass. and the passport fits barely. Actually the COB product to me is not deep enough by about 1/2 inch. Then there are two zipper pockets but they zip in different directions which is confusing, Also a phone without a case will fit but a phone with a case is a tight fit and everyone has a case on their phone these days. And if you drop a pen into the bottom of the case it's hard to close. I wouldn't recommend this product as a travel wallet. I was very disappointed.

    I just wish there was a passport holder that just held one or more passports and boarding pass only! Maybe an area for some emergency cash. I don't like the idea of having to take out my passport holder when trying to pay for some purchases when traveling. Keep the passport separate form the money wallet. Don't give prying eyes any more reason to target a tourist

    Dango Warning: I am a huge Dango fan and have quite a few of their products. Their P-series have a major issue though. They zippers are cheap plastic and fail QUICKLY. With even the slightest bit of resistance the teeth elements will rip away from the zipper tape rendering it useless and unsightly. I’ve had this happen with three different P-series products. As much as I like the design of the P02 (and P01) I strongly discourage you from buying them.

    Love your videos, but I think you missed it on this one. No shade to any of these Passport Holders, they all seem great. However, we're a year and a half into this pandemic, and many of us want to travel again. Not a single one on your list has a space to protect and view a vaccination card. I'm traveling for the first time soon, and one of my events requires proof of vaccination. Yes, some places may accept a photo on your phone, but not all will consider that sufficient. Just sayin', please include options for protection for both our Passports and vax cards. Thanks!
