For future reference, it's honestly better to delay a reaction that react with half the group missing for a channel that's built as a group reaction channel. When you can't see two of the people's reactions to some of the biggest moments in the series, that's a real anticlimax after following a series for nearly half a year. As much as I know some viewers will give you grief for delaying, a delayed reaction is rectified in short order, but some people's reactions just being absent to get the episode out on schedule is an issue that can never be rectified (unless they record their own take, but it's obviously too late for that now to boot). I really enjoy you guys, and I'm not try to mindlessly hate, just genuine feedback that I hope you might consider down the line (presuming the youtube comments even get read :P).
I think Katarina has the most tragic story arc in the show. She had an abusive mother who named her after the woman she hated most, who had stolen her name. The woman then later slept with both her husband and son, both of whom disappeared. She was then killed by her own mother while trying to rescue her husband and son only to become the legend of the lady in the lake as mentioned in the first season.
When I first binged this show, this was the episode that made me take a break for a couple of days. Also as a die-hard Hozier fan, "In The Woods Somewhere" hit hard lol
@@kvm6 the stealing is part of the bootstrap but it does happen. When Hanna went back in time, she told Egon that she was Ulrich’s wife, Katarina. That was her stealing the name. I get what you mean, though. The name has no origin
It seems that way initially, but Katarinas name is still Katarina in the origin, so clearly it was going to happen regardless, it’s just that Hannah was the catalyst in the two worlds but something else (that probably happened regardless) was the catalyst in the origin
"You don't deserve your namesake", which just happens to be Katharina herself. I found the journey of the St. Christophers pendant just as compelling as any character time traveling.
25:47 Yes, there is an exact scene where they talk about the lady who drowned in the lake. Rewatching this show is such a trip. Thinking about Martha and Magnus swimming in the lake while their mother's remains are likely down there... insane.
Not to detract from the real twists of DARK, which is just how many layers of incest there are between Jonas and Martha. At least 2at this point, she's his aunt and he is Martha's great great grandfather (from the Unknown trio.) SPOILERS There's also Jonas being the uncle of Agnes, which makes Agnes and The Unknown yet another incestuous couple, and adds a third layer of incest to Martha and Jonas is her great great uncle.
Very well written how scared Helena is when Katerina says "Mom", we know about the abortion she had when she was young so hearing a stranger say this would be terrifying to her. Also this is where Katarina gets the black eye after hooking up with Ulrich for the first time.
Katarina getting a black eye after hooking up with Ulrich was in November 1986, whereas this scene happens in the summer of 1987. Sadly, Helena physically abusing her daughter wasn't a one time thing but a reoccurring one...
Also one small detail Katharina has written on her t-shirt "Liebe" "love" all that she ever wanted from her mother was love but all that she did get was abusing and that makes in my opinion her death so sad. And now we also know who is the lady in lake from the story that Bartosz and Magnus has tell to Martha in season 2 where they want to scare her.
Yep, they are one of only two father/son actors in this show. Young/Middle-age Peter and Middle-age/Old "Origin" are father/son in real life. The rest are just very good casting.
Crazy that back in S2E6 Bartosz spooks Martha about the lady under the lake, and here we found out that it was her mother… damn Dark living up to its name! Jonas also finds Katharina’s St Christopher pendant on the beach in that episode. Incredible foreshadowing!
People have been giving Eric a hard time during this series, so it was nice to see him get so close to the prime timeline idea towards the end of the episode
I think Eric has actually been the only one who even seems to be thinking about the show and has a grasp at understanding it. The others can’t even keep characters straight in their head, refuse to believe or completely miss when the show tells them any information. Arran is probably the worst, to the point where I actually think he can’t read subtitles. Calvin just says whatever random thing that comes into his head and makes it into a theory. Rick is disappointedly really bad for a guy who I thought wld be able to understand the show the most. Never thought that Eric would be the only brains that the group is offering, it’s good also that he is the only one in group who is looking at the family tree and actually trying to understand it. Thinking abt it i remember Eric was a big fan of Lost, so he's probably familar with trying to put a puzzle together.
@@alliona502 I have to agree with you. I understand it's the whole reason why so many of us wanted to see their reactions and discussions in the first place, but they focus too much on trying to guess what will happen instead of what is actually happening and being said in the show. I mean, Eric literally has to color code his notes based on what's being said in the show and what's being theorized by the group. Eric is usually the only one taking the show's information at face value instead of thinking the show is lying to him and running off with that thought until the very end of the show. Example: Jonas just died, but we're told Adam is Jonas. Eric tries to rationalize how Jonas could be dead but Adam is still alive in the future. On the other hand, Aaron believes Adam is lying about his true identity and is leaving it at that with no more discussion or thought to be had.
@alliona502 honestly I thought Rick would be the one with the closest theories. I was very impressed with his ability to predict stuff on LOST, but it's nice to see that Eric and Aaron are both doing pretty well with Dark. Dark being much harder to follow them LOST, IMHO (and LOST is my favourite show of all time lol)
i’ve seen this series too many times and this is still the one episode that’s the hardest to rewatch. eric with his head in his hand is a whole mood fr 🥲 putting a hozier song in this show is absolutely genius
Katharina's death is one of the moments in the show that blew me away. I was mostly confused this deep into the show but Katharina's arc is one of the key elements that made this show worth watching. It's a sad tragic story and it was the most impactful death of the entire show for me, even if her character wasn't even in my top 10 most interesting for me. This will stick with me forever.
At the very start of this series, Aaron was the one saying that he might miss so much because he'd get ditracted with following subtitles but it's amazing how much he gets and how close his theories are to the actual plot 🤎
This reaction is so good. I need to watch these brain explosions again. It was so satisfying reliving it through them. So glad Aaron asked if the woman in the lake had been a legend the kids spoke about early in the show.
My favorite episode! Sad the others aren't here to watch. Katherina's story is so tragic with her mother being r*ped as a child, aborting the baby, thinking the baby got sent to hell. Then later Katherina attacks her and she thinks she's her aborted child from hell. And Katherina's mother thinks Katherina will be r*ped like she was, which is why she hates when Ulrich and Katherina have a relationship, and she abuses her.
Baby Charlotte had to be brought back in time to when she was as she had to grow up in Winden back then to ensure she met Peter when she did to result in the birth of Elizabeth to make sure she exists too.😵💫
*spoiler* for series finale And after the series finale we know that she needs to be there for Tannhaus too. Without her he would work on a time machine to prevent his son and his family deaths (what he does in original timeline). The best part is that no one should know this (Eva or Adam) so it's kind of a fate/universe trying to stop more time shenanigans (or his machine in split reality would put them back together so he can't work on it, bcs paradoxes).
This is the first show where I wrote notes like you guys. Had watched season 1 and 2 three times before season 3 came out. Watched them a fourth time and wrote notes and I still didn’t understand season 3 until I rewatched it. Also, when all the kids are swimming in the lake in season 1 or 2, one of the kids swims up and scares another. Then they speak of a legend where a lady drowned and haunted the lake. Little did they know that at least some of them were talking about their mother without knowing what the legend was about. Because it’s a legend
@11:40 this show is sooo incredible... they tell you, actually tell you that Peter is killed like 2 episodes ago and when it's happening youre still like I cant believe this, this isnt happening

What an episode. I white-knuckled through Elisabeth's entire scene. One or two episodes ago, Stranger Jonas told alt-world Martha that he doesn't remember her, even though she'd already met younger Jonas. So clearly, it was a lie that things couldn't be changed. I am excited and apprehensive about seeing how this one ends.
I'm rewatching the whole series. My wife hasn't seen it before, and we've binged it over the space of the last 2 weeks. I had been looking forward to watching this episode to see how she reacted to Katharina and her mum. I had entirely blanked from my mind about all the other deaths. Man, this hit harder on the rewatch as I slowly remembered and knew what was coming next, then when the Hozier song came on, that broke me. I had to come here to see your reactions again. Thanks guys
We already know this always happen because older Jonas has already stated he's never been to her world. And she couldn't have gone back & saved him because of the origin of the two worlds. Love how the lady who takes care of the mentally ill is indeed mentally ill herself. Peter's younger actor is the son of Peter's actor. Pay attention to facial scars!
From the moment adult Jonas didn't remember Martha saving him in the apocalypse day, it's very well known they are not the same Jonas so whatever happened to the younger version that was saved by Martha didn't happened to the adult one. So him dying doesn't mean the adult isn't Jonas, is just another Jonas.
katherina's mother called her a devil, and "i got rid of u" talking about the abortion she had as a child, when talking with Hannah. that baby would have been just a little younger than her actual self now, which adult Katherina is, so her mother thought she was being haunted by her aborted child.
IF YALL DONT CRY AT THE END OF THIS SHOW IMMA BE PISSED OKAY. THE LEVEL OF RELEASE UR BODY FEELS IS JUST SOMETHING ELSE. IMMA BE WAITING FOR THOSE TEARS OKAY? FEED ME.
Eric is going to be so pleased when he learns Martha gets the big scar on her face during a fencing fight with a time traveling Regina! 🙃 When in season 1 Mikkel arrives at the school in 1986, we hear some girls discussing a song (Jeanny by Austrian singer Falco) about a guy who (seemingly) captures and kills a girl because her red lipstick caught his attention, young Hannah mentiones her father had said lipstick would only be for prostitutes. Later, when we saw Elli with Franziska's lipstick, everybody knowing the song thought of it and anticipated her to be taken too. When that didn't happened, it seemed like false alarm or a tease. In season 2, the song plays on the radio when Magnus visits Benny's "trailer of love", maybe a hint towards the comment of Hannah's father? And now, the trailer is the place where Elli almost falls prey to a s3xcrime.
What a powerhouse actor Carlotta von Falkenhayn (young Elizabeth) is. She deserved an award for her performance in this ep. I believe she was 12 when this was filmed.
Emotionally Drained. 😔😔😔 Rewatching this with the Wave Crew made me relive the first time I watched it years ago - pure depression 😟😟😟 Anyway, great reaction Wave Crew! Looking forward to the next one! More power to the channel & God bless!
younger Egon gives the necklace to Hannah, who gives it to Katherina's mother as a child, who loses it on the beach when she kills her adult daughter, which is then found by teen Jonas years later on the same beach, who gives it to Martha, who gives it back to Jonas after the first time they're intimate at the Nielssen's party, then (as adult Jonas) he leaves it on Martha's pillow, who then gives it back to adult Jonas, who keeps it til becoming Adam. (on the second earth, Jonas keeps it after Martha gives it to him at the Nielssen's party before they have sex) Jonas travels with Martha to the second world, Martha grabs it after dark Martha shots Jonas at Eva's place, (reality split) Martha keeps it, Adam takes it from dark Martha/Martha keeps it, Martha as now Eva shows it to young Jonas when they talk at her place, after having it for 66 years.
Helene killed Katharina because she thought it was the baby she aborted that came back from hell. Also in last episode the fact that Helene was pregnant at such young age implies that she was abused, that’s why she’s so angry at Katharina when she discovers she’s having an affair with Ulrich, she’s worried the same could happen to her
Lady of the Lake in S02 E06 AND the bruise on Katerinas face you see in S01 E05 when you're thinking "wait. Did Ulrich actually beat her" after he is taken into custody. She was actually beaten by her mum when she sees the lovebites on Katarinas neck.
I would have preferred, if they had delayed the reaction until everyone was present. Dark isn't any show, where we could casually drop people from the reactions, especially now, that we are at the end of the show...
Boy Helge couldn't die from Ulrich beating him with the rock because his older self already exists. Katarina could die because it was the end of her timeline.
Magnus said on a clear day you can see her dress down there still. And they found the St Christopher she let go of as she was dragged in the water lol. She though Katherina was the baby she aborted when she met Hannah at the Obendorf abortion place. That's what I think anyway
Ended up watching all your Dark episodes. This is by far, the best one, to me. ❤ You both were on the edge of your seats for the most part. Haha. This is how I felt from episode four to the last one from this season. Watched the whole season the day it premiered. Cannot wait to hear what Eric has to say after rewatching the series.
One of the most depressing episodes of television I’ve ever watched. Literally took a break from the show for like a week cause it got a little too… dark 😉
remember when the kids were swimming in the lake and talked about the women down on the lake drowned many years ago. that was katharina. also they talked about the book of tannhaus in context of the bootstrap paradox. where you cant tell an item or information´s origin anymore. same with the chain here. we saw that jonas and martha found it on the lake mentioned above, and later it got to hannah. hanna left it at her mom when she was young and getting the abortion, as well as hannah.
When Katharinas mother met Hannah they were both waiting to get an abortion (implicating she was raped as a child). She thinks Katharina is her aborted child coming back from hell to haunt her. That’s why she tells Katharina that she should have gotten rid of her, TOO.
is one thing to get killed and die, but i could never, EVER put myself on peter's shoes in that scene, the idea of "im about to die i cant do it im about to die i cant break free im about to die this is it he's going to kill me im about to die i cant overpower him im about to die" IN A LOOP AT INHUMAN SPEED GOING THROUGH UR HEAD WHILE URE SCARED SHITLESS, HORRIFIED BY THE MOMENT, SCARED FOR UR LOVED ONE THAT WILL HAVE TO SAVE THEMSELVES AND U WONT BE THERE TO HELP THEM. OMG I CHOKE EVERY TIME.
Only 2 of them watching a season 3 episode?? Please just wait longer and get the entire Dark crew together. You can't be missing people for episodes in the third season. Please.
that's how katherina gets the black eye that time hannah said ulrich abused her, remember? it was from her mother, the same day she killed her adult self. tadaaaa
Do we know what happened to Katherina's mom when she was young? was she taken advantage off to get pregnant this young? and years later she named her daughter like the woman who was nice to her at the clinic. So Katherina was named after Hanna's fake identity. that's crazy when she said she got rid of her, was because she thought old Katherina was the baby she got rid off. that family is so messed up.
relief comes when the montage starts in episode 6. I've been shitting on these guys but i am genuinely curious to see how they react to the next 3 episodes
I definitely love the effort you put into trying to figure it all out. I gave up on episode 3x3. I went along with the ride because I love this show so much, but I waited to the second and third viewing to work on understanding everything, which btw, I still haven't.
Ok you got one of the clues in this episode to know how this ends...to the mystery of this story. And remember that there is more than one Jonas timeline story since his time line was split.
She's hardcore Christian. I'm rewatching the show with you guys and it suddenly dawned on me what was happening in the scene where she kills Katarina. When we see young Helene waiting to get an abortion, she says her mother told that aborted babies go to hell. This is also when she gets her St. Christopher. Now when older Katarina shows up at the institution, Helene half recognises her, and Katarina mentions the necklace, saying her mother had a similar one. Later when Katarina attacks her for the key card, she calls her "mum" and Helene freaks out. The first time I just thought she was scared becauee a clearly crazy woman was attacking, and then I thought Helene was crazy with all the devil talk. But no. She thinks her aborted daughter has come from Hell to torment her. Which is it's own kind of crazy I guess, but now it makes a lot more sense. That's why she says the devil sent her, and "I got rid of you". And later she tells young Katarina "I should have gotten rid of you too". I guess I wasn't focusing on those characters the first time, but those scenes had a lot more meaning now that I get what was actually going on.
Can someone please explain how original Jonas died young, but still grew old? I watched this when it came out and that’s what confused me, and still does years later.
It is very interesting to see your joint reaction to the films Batman Unlimited: Animal Instincts and Batman Unlimited: Monster Mayhem. These are cool movies 👍👍👍
am i the only one that slid into their dm's to beg them to re-react to this GEM of a show after they finishe it? it's a complete different story once u have all the pieces, that u even get MORE SURPRISED at the writing, and even find more stuff on the rewatch cause ur mind isnt focused on solving it, ure absorving it as a whole. guys please ♥

katherina's mother called her a devil, and "i got rid of u" talking about the abortion she had as a child, when talking with Hannah. that baby would have been just a little younger than her actual self now, which adult Katherina is, so her mother thought she was being haunted by her aborted child.
IF YALL DONT CRY AT THE END OF THIS SHOW IMMA BE PISSED OKAY. THE LEVEL OF RELEASE UR BODY FEELS IS JUST SOMETHING ELSE. IMMA BE WAITING FOR THOSE TEARS OKAY? FEED ME.
Middle of season 3 and they still think things can be changed.
Your post reaction analysis and theories are so close it’s so entertaining to listen to. It’ll pay off in the end
Eric is going to be so pleased when he learns Martha gets the big scar on her face during a fencing fight with a time traveling Regina! 🙃
When in season 1 Mikkel arrives at the school in 1986, we hear some girls discussing a song (Jeanny by Austrian singer Falco) about a guy who (seemingly) captures and kills a girl because her red lipstick caught his attention, young Hannah mentiones her father had said lipstick would only be for prostitutes.
This show needs to be watched twice..
this episode should really be called Life and Death and Death and More Death.
That was a hell of a episode! One of the best ones.
And yes Eric, in the end you'll be satisfied!
When they play that Hozier song... Uff... Right I'm the feels 😢 Fantastic episode!
At 30:14 Eric is closer than hes ever been to the actual plot
And Aron as well.
Maaan when we finally got the answer to why she had that black eye
I'm pretty sure Katarina says she got beaten by her mom when she hassles Regina in the forest when she thinks Regina told Egon.
welcome to the best and most important episode of Dark!
that claudia and claudia scene is perhaps the most important scene of the whole show.
What a powerhouse actor Carlotta von Falkenhayn (young Elizabeth) is. She deserved an award for her performance in this ep. I believe she was 12 when this was filmed.
Greatest show of all time period
Emotionally Drained. 😔😔😔
Rewatching this with the Wave Crew made me relive the first time I watched it years ago - pure depression 😟😟😟
Anyway, great reaction Wave Crew!
Also in last episode the fact that Helene was pregnant at such young age implies that she was abused, that’s why she’s so angry at Katharina when she discovers she’s having an affair with Ulrich, she’s worried the same could happen to her
Agnes' actress played a role in Man of Steel, I guess.
Young Peter is played by the real son of the older Peter actor! Greetings from Germany❤
Lady of the Lake in S02 E06 AND the bruise on Katerinas face you see in S01 E05 when you're thinking "wait. Did Ulrich actually beat her" after he is taken into custody. She was actually beaten by her mum when she sees the lovebites on Katarinas neck.
this show is telling the story how i would tell it ... everything is out of order but in the end everyting makes sense xD
I'm so glod they're wrong about Adam not being Jonas hahaha
I would have preferred, if they had delayed the reaction until everyone was present. Dark isn't any show, where we could casually drop people from the reactions, especially now, that we are at the end of the show...
Eric is actually the one to figure out the main plot twist 😳 this is unexpected
I love watching Eric struggling in his own thoughts trying to figure things out. :D
This is the worst episode for calvin and rick to miss :(
right! after the episode i was like this was so heavy i can’t wait to see their reaction, and it’s only 1/2 of the crew 😔
Boy Helge couldn't die from Ulrich beating him with the rock because his older self already exists. Katarina could die because it was the end of her timeline.
Of course one of the best episodes and the others miss it.
i had totally suppressed that episode from my mind, there are other episodes that made uncomfortable but THIS one made me feel depressed
Magnus said on a clear day you can see her dress down there still. And they found the St Christopher she let go of as she was dragged in the water lol. She though Katherina was the baby she aborted when she met Hannah at the Obendorf abortion place. That's what I think anyway
Death and death and death and death and even more death and death and death.
If things were crazy before, this is where things get INSANE!
One of the most depressing episodes of television I’ve ever watched. Literally took a break from the show for like a week cause it got a little too… dark 😉
remember when the kids were swimming in the lake and talked about the women
down on the lake drowned many years ago. that was katharina. also they talked
about the book of tannhaus in context of the bootstrap paradox. where you cant
tell an item or information´s origin anymore. same with the chain here. we saw that
jonas and martha found it on the lake mentioned above, and later it got to hannah.
hanna left it at her mom when she was young and getting the abortion, as well
as hannah.
Been loving these reactions as the show goes more and more ... dark ... so fucking grim I love it
did peter die cause it was writen as such, or did eric influence the past and so the future? ERIC
This episode was beyond insane
Episode 7 is the one you're waiting for. All questions are answered and plot holes filled. That way you're all where you need to be for the finale.
I'm actually watching the show along with you and at the end of every episode I like how you're just as confused as I am
Loved today's reaction and your theories
Only 2 of them watching a season 3 episode?? Please just wait longer and get the entire Dark crew together. You can't be missing people for episodes in the third season. Please.
They're just sick and will watch it on their own. I think in the next one it should be the whole crew
that's how katherina gets the black eye that time hannah said ulrich abused her, remember? it was from her mother, the same day she killed her adult self.
This was one of the darkest hours of TV I ever watched. It just kept getting worse
Loved the reaction guys
When they will reach last second episode all of their gaps will be filled
Would really love to see your reaction to this new series called FROM it's amazing!
I definitely love the effort you put into trying to figure it all out. I gave up on episode 3x3. I went along with the ride because I love this show so much, but I waited to the second and third viewing to work on understanding everything, which btw, I still haven't.
Ending was shocking . . . . All the martha came
That was real horror . . .
Aaron at 31:50: "Fucking cousins!"
🤨🧐😟
It's explained in s3e6 and s3e7.
It is very interesting to see your joint reaction to the films Batman Unlimited: Animal Instincts and Batman Unlimited: Monster Mayhem. These are cool movies 👍👍👍
Really this show is all about intergenerational trauma. Mostly head trauma.
am i the only one that slid into their dm's to beg them to re-react to this GEM of a show after they finishe it? it's a complete different story once u have all the pieces, that u even get MORE SURPRISED at the writing, and even find more stuff on the rewatch cause ur mind isnt focused on solving it, ure absorving it as a whole.
guys please ♥
maybe unpopular opinion: i like the reaction with only you two more
I think these two are on top of the game, but still want to see the reaction of the other two for the solution.
