Great video!!! I luv contemporary dupes of luxury handbags because the contemporary dupes are still high quality products.
My take on dupes (not fakes/replicas) is that they're a great way to see how the bag I actually want will fit in my lifestyle. If I try it for a few weeks and still want to go ahead, then I feel better about making the plunge. However, many times I've found that the style isn't comfortable or just doesn't work out well for me. Generally, the shine wears off very quickly and I'm only out a few hundred and I can pass it along to someone else. I much prefer that to going through the hassle of a reseller and losing much more money.
So true! That’s what I did when I wanted to try out the bucket bag style. I’m happy with the one i have but I don’t think I would spend a couple thousand on one.

Or sometimes it’s a bag that you know in a future you might get tired of it so just spend 200 or 300 instead of thousands.
I had my “boy bag”dupe from Rebecca Minkof for two years and well got tired of it.
The last one, Karl Lagerfield is spot on, especially the tweed
I have the Rebecca minkoff love bag, it has a boy bag look and the quality is decent. I enjoyed it and didn’t want the boy bag anymore.

I had that one long time ago and re sold it because the Chain was slightly peeled, I sold it much cheaper than I got it but hey I didn’t mind that much since it wasn’t crazy expensive, I also had From Rebecca Minkoff a Chanel classic flap dupe and latter re sold it, that one I regretted selling it but now I have a Chanel classic flap dupe from Purificación García and I really love it.
I’m a bag minimalist because when I used to have a big collection realized I only wore one of them so I decided to latter just stay with three bags at a time the most.
My bags are all designer dupes from contemporary brands.

Great video. I wanted to see if you would show the one I have. Karl Lagerfield, before he went off on his own, was the creator of the Chanel Classic Flap handbag in the early 80’s. Hence, why his Agyness bag looks so similar - it was his design. I just picked one up at Ross for $80 vs. $268. Included original tags and dust bag as well. Mine has the gunmetal and leather chain and accompanying gunmetal round studs along with pearl accents. It’s beautiful.

Chanel dupes! I bought a Fleming convertible because I couldn’t afford a classic flap but sadly the chain is too long for me to wear crossbody.
Ahh I have that issue with crossbody straps too. Maybe you can try tucking one end of the chain under the flap to shorten it a little bit?

Still want a luxury bag but I have a real issue with Chanel’s doubled price inflation last year. I don’t care what anyone says, Chanel is NOT worth $6000. Period. The quality is just not there to justify that price tag and none of the metal embellishments are real gold anymore. They’ve lost their minds at Chanel headquarters

Really appreciate you encouraging people to find affordable dupes from reputable brands rather than buying fakes (or blatant copies like Teddy Blake). It really leaves a bad taste in my mouth when content creators promote buying "replicas".

@@CAROLCHANNELINGCHIC there is no need for a fake or replica when, you have perfectly legal stores selling bags inspired in high end designer bags. In all range prices.
I know you are focused right now in Contemporary designer dupes but for your next challenge I propose doing the dupes research within the fast fashion stores.
Did you know H&M has a dupe of the Dior book tote and it sold really well. People went crazy for it.
So once you end with Contemporary designers go to the fast fashion market. With stores Like Top Shop, Zara, Mango and H&M to name some.

It looks like it has been used but I only paid fifty bucks for it so I’m not mad. I also bought a YSL envelope bag dupe from Target a couple of years ago for like thirty to forty bucks.

LTL London has the best Chanel flap dupes in my opinion.
The LTL London bags are marked up Aliexpress bags. Look and sound like cardboard with pvc. Not worth the money
@@user-qi3pm7qc6m I’ve had some really bad experiences with Aliexpress, I know it’s super cheap but I’d personally rather pay more (especially since I only wanted one specific bag) but not worry about what I get. But that’s just my opinion.

I don’t like dupes. I’d rather carry an original design fro a contemporary brand than a dupe. Unfortunately, original designs by contemporary brand fashion houses are becoming increasingly rare.
I see what you’re saying but I feel like all designers take inspiration from one another, even the luxury designer houses. There’s only so many ways you can reinvent a handbag without it being unusable so things will end up looking similar in some ways.

The latter just seemed like a dupe of the former to me...and now dior’s version of the boy bag is no longer in production. Now, if Chanel did their version of a lady dior...I wouldn’t buy that either.
Don’t know how people feel it’s cool to purchase fake designer. Just buy what you can afford.
