Chris is a great story teller. Back in the day when Myspace ruled, I chatted with Chris through the DM system a few times. The way Chris talked to me via myspace social media is the same way he talks in these interviews. This guy is one of the most down to earth, sincere guys in the music industry,
Chris is such an awesome guitarist… I’m still annoyed that Blackie thought Mean man was a homage… he’s a legendary guitarist of the scene that’s for sure.
If Holmes really made the comment about Carpenter feeding his sister, as Browde stated in his interview, it must have been later after Holmes found out it was Richard Carpenter. In other words, he never actually said those words to Carpenter. Browde either remembered inaccurately or thought his updated version made for a better story.
My late older brother recorded an album for A&M Records with Ric Browde. I'm afraid Ric still disdains me: He evicted me from his apartment. Why? Well, let's just say I was being a real asshole one evening and I really pissed him off. Besides that, there are three things about Ric I especially remember: Patrick Sky's "Songs That Made America Famous"; his stories about working with Ted Nugent; and his fondness for AC/DC's "Whole Lotta Rosie".
Haha my dad just told me a story about how he drank with Chris once after a show back in the day..and my dad use to be all long hair n look like a rocker himself and ppl came up n asked who he was n Chris would say he was blackie lawless haha..and told ppl my dad n my uncle were from Van Halen😂 that’s how dumb these chicks were, they actually believed it
@@itnaklipse1669 shut up u goof…y the F would I make this up? I’m from Toronto..my dad grew up with Sebastian Bach so he was able to meet ppl u dumb shit, so shut up..u don’t kno me..just cuz u have never met anyone doesn’t mean other ppl haven’t.. back in the 80s n 90s it was a lot easier to get backstage n meet ppl. so I’m sure many other ppl have stories of drinking with Chris as well..so shut up
@@pickford3152 He's like this other moron here in the comments i was arguing with they think nobody can know anyone famous ugh. My brother met 3 members of Def Leppard at a party back in 1979 or 1980 :)
Some of these interviews were done between long periods of time there not really new new . So he might not even of known about it yet to say or ask to Chris.
Perhaps that conversation happened a week or two later. They were hanging out at the same studio. Assuming that's true. Chris is so down to earth and comes across like he genuinely cares about people that it's consistent with his nature. If Chris did say that to him ...doesn't mean he was being confrontational about it either.
@@ThisUnderWorldOfDarkness IF Chris said "Why didn't you sell a car and buy your sister a fkn sandwich" to Richard Carpenter about his sister who just died from anorexia, how in the hell would that NOT be considered confrontational?!? lol Young, dumb and bullet proof.
You guys when we lose these guys what it’s going to be done the last shit you guys find these guys pay them get them to perform let them enjoy them while we got the time because it’s coming to an end and when it ends it’s gonna be bad it’s going to be terrible
While listening, I was thinking that very thing. Why would Richard Carpenter talk to a scumbag like him? I had extremely long hair back then, and people always treated me like I was a scumbag. Just brings back bad memories. lol 🤢

Definitely the most likeable guy in that band.
That was a great story

It absolutely made for a better story, messed up though it might be.
The Man. He's rockin' Europe now. I hope he's having fun. Thanks for the clip & interview.

People thought i was in my uncles band years ago without even asking me if i was lol
So he didn't mention anything about Browde claiming Chris said to Richard why didn't you feed your sister?

Didn't Chris say something to Carpenter about his sister?
