Video on the Ford GT40 entered in the main event of the Spa Six Hours meeting and driven by Emile Breittmayer, Christophe Van Riet and Frédéric Bouvy started from the front row in 2nd place.
After a spin at the first corner on the first lap, Christophe Van Riet caught up on his way up from 16th position to 1st place!
Unfortunately, a mechanical problem reduced the hope of a good result at the Spa Six Hours. Revenge in 2023!

Après une pirouette lors du premier virage au premier tour, Christophe Van Riet de se rattrapant en remontant de la 16e place jusqu'à la 1ère place !
Malheureusement, un souci mécanique réduisait l'espoir d'un bon résultat aux Spa Six Hours. Revanche en 2023 !

That rejoin in the exit of La Source seemed outright dangerous though, forcing two other drivers off track.
Great footage otherwise, what a car it is!
Indeed, it was dangerous and the driver who took the start should have been black flagged.
But there is also another GT40 incident @7:25 where the "Ford GT" (1) N° 98 literally pushes a white Mustang off the track entering Fagnes corner.
(1) these are replicas to 1966 specification unlike the rest of the field in pre 31/12/65 spec.
@@Andrew-vx2lso be fair the gt lost control. You can see him try to correct it then hit the mustang
@@jesusg853 The SC had only pulled in and the Mustang left plenty of boulevard of space. As you say, the GT driver was clearly panicked but that does not make it any better! 😀

Mmm brilliant but initial over driving followed by red mist recovery drive. Theses things have poor brakes and woeful grip.

Scarey, seems a bit of a pig to drive, a bit of lock and it wants to swap ends, understeer to snap oversteer and slow heavy steering, all GT40’s are like this .. ?
Well, a motoring journalist once tested a GT40 and a Ferrari P3/P4, and said that in terms of handling, the Ferrari is much better.
I would guess they're not all like that and that it all depends on the budget ones running such a potent car on?
It seems like the GT40 drivers are the real mustang drivers after all..
