    Great video Gebben. Years ago (I'm 80 now) I learned the gun mount you use in this video. From a drop position my gun comes up to my face, contacting my cheek and nearly the same time it seats into my shoulder pocket. Shortly thereafter the gun fires. All of the time, from start to finish, my eyes are fixated on the target/bird. A correct gun mount and eyes on the bird has gathered me more broken targets than any other technical points.

    how was that a swing through , it was pull away

      @martynf65uk Рік тому +1

      The pull away was more like a maintained lead, then pull away. #confused

      @@martynf65uk @bavariasuhl most decent clay shooters I see, where there is time on the target, like that crosser, are using a hybrid of maintained lead (negative or positive) with pull away. Negative lead (holding behind) or positive lead (holding in front) depending on the direction/orientation of the target, whichever gives the better vision of target, before moving to the lead and firing.

      @@martynf65uk There are 2 different ways to intercept at the target; the first one is to shoot directly away from the target, more or less about the speed and the distance of the target. The second one, it consist putting the sight of the shotgun away from the target and shooting without stop the swing.

    I believe George Digweed, the greatest ever shotgun shooter, uses the swing through method on most game targets. He is the FITASC world champion, once again in 2023.

    To replicate game would it not be better to be walking up, gun open, safety on and then the trap gets released but "pull" is not called? Never seen a bird wait for me to stand in the correct position with perfect balance and body facing the kill point..

      Hi! Sporting Clay isn't a hunting action but an intensify training for the hunting practice. Following the rules of the Shooting sport the shooter must call the target and he has to prepare his position to shoot in the best way.

    Great stuff guys, you should put out a 90 minute instructional program on shooting low gun, also you should review some traps for guys that are just practicing for the hunting season

      Yes, the shotgun used by Gebben is a Krighoff over under. Normally the choke tubes used by Gebben are modified/modified.

      Some were pull away but starting just in front of the target rather than on the target. With maintained you move the gun at the same speed as the bird the whole time. Go back and re-watch BH’s videos! Agreed, the shotcam footage didn’t show one swing-through shot.
