Another good one. Some I was screaming at the screen shouting "I know this, I know this..." just not getting the title. Others never heard of... brings back memories though!
Lol, yeah, I did some of that too -- "oohhh, that's.... the Undertakers one! And that one was.... I know I hated HIM, 'cause HE was a smug git in it!"
I just with there was a TV channel that would play all the brit-coms from the 70's, 80's & 90's all day long. You'd never be able to pull me away from it! TV would be worth watching again!
Me Too!
@@CricketEngland I used to watch UK Gold when my set top box could receive it, we have 3 sky + set top boxes in our house, but mine keeps telling me I have the wrong card inserted, even though it's the same card it's always had. Now all I can get on it is the freeveiw channels, regardless of if the card is in there or not.
BritBox
@@CoolDudeClem cards go out of date though you should ask for a new one.
Me too!!
When the BBC used to make decent programs before all the politically correct woke crap it produces today.
The last bloody one, I hate sodding cinzano Bianco!😠
I failed badly on the ITV sitcoms but got all the BBC sitcoms
I was doing quite well in the first half, then I started forgetting names, and there were a couple that utterly passed me by. Lot of happy memories though...
Same/ Like some of the Horses I have backed. Started well. No middle pace. Faded badly :)
That was definitely a game of 2 halves. First half perfect, second half terrible!. 25/40
Got about half of them. And I was 18 in 1981. Some were complete rubbish
like Robin Parker I have only seen half of them. Wish the comedy shows now a days were has good.
Never heard of 'Bottle Boys', however you're pushing your luck by including 'Home to Roost' as a comedy.
That was one of the better ones from this list.
It would appear that I watched quite a lot of TV comedy back in the 80's....
I knew most of those, just not all by title :P I think there were about two I don't remember, ever.
16/40...Started so well...then the wheels came off
Not as good on the 80s stuff. Couldnt remember three The Mollie Sugden, William Gaunt and Lorraine Chase ones so as not to give the answers away for others
Just look how gorgeous Penelope Wilton was
Only 15. Didnt have a clue as regards most of them. Then again in the 80s id have been in the pub most nights of the week 🤣🤣🤣
I don't watch many but some right even the ones haven't watched along time anway
Superb quiz. So many memories flooding back, even some I did not know I had. Lol.
Glad you enjoyed it. Many thanks!
Bottle boys, that’s my boy never heard of them, I got about half of them, a lot of them were just rubbish.
I didn't get Never The Twain Filthy Rich and Catflap Colin's Sandwich
Home to Roost Bottle Boys Brush Strokes That's My Boy
Slinger's Day No Place Like Home The Magnificent Evans
and Up the Elephant and Round the Castle
Got them all except Colin's Sandwich - couldn't remember the title, even though I watched it.
But I should probably see a mental health professional about the fact that I recognised Bottle Boys! I desperately need to expunge that from my mind.
Reakky ? I did get Bottle Bots but The Magnificient Evans and Agony and Hallelujah ?
@@Isleofskye Show with, respectively, Ronnie Barker, Maureen Lipman and Thora Hird? Heck yes! (I am quite old...)
Well Done, My Friend.
I'm 66 and don't remember them.
I know Thora Hird starred in "Thora!"
This was fun! I estimate I got more than 70% of them, including some of the more obscure ones I watched as a little Billie.
When did you go solo from the rest of Billie Piper?
@@richardrichard688
I was born in 1978 in the English Home Counties. I grew up watching this stuff, as did anyone else of such vintage and background.
The only thing that different about me is I have a good memory. Not eidetic. Just good.
@@thegrandmuftiofwakanda Not what I asked but cool. 1975 in Hampshire for me.
I managed to get 12 out of 30 on the 70s shows and 11 out of 30 on the 80s shows but then I live in Canada so not TOO bad!
That's pretty good considering you're in Canada, Hank. Thanks for watching!
I tripped up on A Fine Romance and Chance In A Million . Some obscure ones in there 👍👍
Yes, definitely a few that people will have a vague memory of watching but not necessarily be able to remember the title.
I grew up in the 80s, and I somehow did worse here than I did with the 70s one!
That one with Ronnie Corbett in " SORRY " didn't know that one 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
That was a quality one.
Some of these were well obscure, only ever having managed to get a single series. Most of which I don't remember watching at all. I got most of the established ones, though.
Slingers Day, with Brucie was a good family comedy. Liked the theme music. Leonard Rossiter starred in Trippers Day and, after his death, the show was resurrected with a new central character.
By the way, After Henry, Colin's Sandwich, Bottle Boys...... comedy? Do me a favour
Well that took me back a bit. Thank you 👋👋
A few in there I don't remember. ..bottle boys? Never heard of it! I am now on a quest to get 100 per cent on one of your quizzes. ...on solar power so my Internet will go off soon....thanks for exercising my trivia muscles...best wishes and take care
Thanks Jimmy and good luck on your quest!
I remember Bottle Boys but, by the end, there were 12-15 I did not know ..lol
I’m 22 and live in Ireland (Bray county Wicklow) some how I managed to get 65% correct😳 perhaps I was a bad screenwriter in a previous life😂🤪🇮🇪❤️
So, I knew I was going to get Open All Hours. Then there was Blackadder...got caught by surprise with Only When I Laugh. Yay, I got three.
There’s another sitcom here.
I wonder how many of these were one off Pilots
I've certainly never heard of most of them
Was surprised that On The Up didn't make the list
Joan Simms and Sam Kelly leading Dennis Waterman on his comedy debut
Each one ran for at least one series. There were many I wanted to include and On the Up was certainly one of them. Maybe I should do a sequel!
Good on you for mentioning ‘On the Up’, but it’s a 90s comedy (first series debuted in 91) so it wouldn’t qualify for this list of 80s sitcoms
@@tobysullivan3510 I would argue Open All Hours wasn't really an 80s sitcom. While it was revived for a couple of series in (I think) 83/84, there were several series of it in the 1970s and I think the pilot was 1972. So really a 70s sitcom that spilled over into the 80s.
Got 18 wrong...
15 wrong oh well
I was born in ‘73, I only missed 2 (Agony and Bottle Boys). Now tell me we’re not a nation raised on TV !!
The young ones
I got 25 right.
gah, 15. Recognised loads more but couldn't remember their names
TBH, the 80s had hardly any decent sitcoms, from this list, there are only at most 5 worth watching with some absolute howlers of tv sitcome. I mean Up the elephant and....with Jim D was dreadful, and most of the others were formulaic tripe. Best ones were in the mid to late 70s, and then 90s onwards, and we have had some really far more sophisticated ones in the 2000s onwards.
Most of these must have garnered only mild ripples of laughter, as 80 percent of them I have never heard of.
hold my beer, I got this, great movie love all this stuff
All the ones I never heard of must have been on ITV. My mum would never let us watch it.
only 3 I didn't know. Much prefer the older stuff to most of the modern stuff. Sorry!
Missed a few because I couldn't remember the name, but there were only three I'd never heard of - Bottle Boys, The Magnificent Evans, and The Gaffer.
I remember The Gaffer, as he also played Selwyn Froggatt
Here I scored very badly.
I can only therefore assume that I didn't watch any TV during that decade.
I'm using this to revise for being on Rylan's Couch Potatoes this afternoon.
I got all the BBC dramas not all of ITV ones love Kelly ❤
Never saw that one. What was Kelly about?
Colin Ingleby -Mackenzie or The Nawab Of Pataudi would have told me...
I was in my 20s in the 80s so I didn't see all of them got 15 though
After seeing this, has anyone else googled some of the actors/actresses to see how they now look or if they are still active?
I was born in 1981 and only knew a few of those sitcoms.
Sorry was a bad excuse for a comedy
Language Timothy.
Ronnie Corbett was so talented, but that seriously was dire. Not as bad as Ronnie Barker in “Clarence” though.
@@nogbad1958 Sorry! was pretty good. I thought.
It ran for 7 series, so can't have been all that bad. Some of the others featured, however, were lucky to get a pilot episode, never mind a single series!
Not as bad as Mrs browns boys...
Some classics on here...I'd just like to say Mrs browns boys is the worst comedy of all time even though its a more recent one and it's not on this...
Absolutely adored Duty Free!
That was tough some I didn't know some I hadn't heard of and some I knew but couldn't remember the name in time
Trouble is not all the shows made it to Australia sadly.
Never heard and never seen half of them. Only the Classics remain with us forever.
Brought back some memories!
They weren't sitcoms or sit-coms really...
Got to name 5 remember seeing about 4 more rest all new to me but of course I'm in the states.
Thank you so so much, I really appreciate all the time and effort that went into this. It brought back some happy memories.
That's great to hear. Thank you so much for your kind comments. Glad you enjoyed it!
Gawd, there was some rubbish then!
29, a few of the others were on the tip of my tongue!
I miss shelly, really liked that show
I so wanted an Irish wolfhound after watching never the Twain
Me too!
Keep it in the family
Terry and June was a 70's thing... Just letting you know.
Terry and June ran for 9 series between 1979 and 1987.
All. And I remember watching them still see a few on gold .👍
Great result!
Open all hours
Only wen I laugh
Never the twain
Good friends
Terry and june
I was doing so well...!!
24,nearly half.
Home to roost
Only fools
Duty free
I don't get it... where are the options? This is just a list, not a quiz
A quiz doesn't always have options to choose from. This is simply a picture quiz.
Bread
Sorry
Never heard of, “Colin’s Sandwich” apart from that all correct.
Hidehi
I knew most. Was born in 81 though so a few were a bit before my time as in too young to remember. Some fantastic shows in there though!
38/40 i got one wrong (curse you thora hird!!, not the pic with chris beeney the other one) and forgot the title of richard o sullivan one (but remembered the song when the tile came up) the rest i got right.
Got 25 out of 40.
Give me "The Good Life" (Felicity Kendall & Richard Briers)👍👍👍👍👍👍
1970s.
Easy they are all still on the BBC every weekend now. Forty yrs later. The licence fee is worth every penny !!
Good to see one of my relatives on the final question, even if I couldn't remember the name of the programme!
Got them all right up to that's my boy with molly sugden, went down hill afterwards
Alo alo
I got most of them, had forgotten a few and a couple I've never heard of.
How about something about the 70s?
There were about a dozen sit coms id never heard of but actually got 7 wrong answers but did well i thought, good quick quiz though.
Thank you!
OMG I got them all right. Forgot how Judy Dench used to look in her younger days though 😅
Full house! Well done!
I thought the first 11 were easy but then I started getting quite a few wrong. I ended up with 29 out of 40. Great quiz.
Thanks Andy. Glad you enjoyed it!
I obviously spent far too much time in the 80's watching TV. I think there were 10 I didn't get and in some of those I just made silly mistakes like Elephant & Castle not Up the Elephant & Round the Castle (Jim Davidson) Blackadder instead of Black Adder II, Fine Romance instead of A Fine Romance.
The 80s was a great time for watching telly!
I awarded myself half a point for Blackadder rather than Black Adder II.
However given that later on Yes Minister and Yes Prime Minister were lumped together as one answer (it's clearly YPM as the Cabinet Room set was not used in YM), differentiating between Blackadder and Black Adder II is probably splitting hairs.
I got them all. I watched too much tv in the 70s, 80s and 90s!
Great result!
That was relatively easy prob due to seeing repeats on UK Gold. Sadly tv has lost alot of ground since then. I got all right bar Agony. As I never heard or seen that
Thanks for sharing chaps.
Thanks for watching!
There's a lot of very forgettable stuff on here, most of it absolute c**p!
Eddie Pennington All better than any politically correct crap that’s on today
