    I will say that I had perfect score. I not only have never heard of any of them, but I didn’t see a single actor that I recognized. In my defense though, I am an American and spent most of the 60's and 70's doing US Navy things.

      Missed the same ones. Guessed Desmonds, couldn't remember the title of the Elaine Stritch one, and guessed Edgar Briggs.

    I'd a gut feeling that I'd get 30/30 here....I was wrong (28/30).....most of these couldn't be made nowadays....thank goodness it was the 70s...😀

      It'd be bloody great!!! A great right hander in the eyes of the wokes, snowflakes and lefties!!! I'd bring them all back, tv is cr*p these days, back then, the ads were better and more entertaining than most of today's actual programmes!!!

    You can't wack the seventies comedies. Brilliant...Outstanding....very funny........when you could have a good loff and folk not telling you thats wrong to loff at....😤🙆‍♂️🇬🇧👍.

    Classic 70s Situation Comedy 🎭 Quiz: 29/30!!! Brilliant!! 😃My highest score yet!! Only one I had never heard of: “Lucky Feller”? Starring David Jason, I thought it might be “A Sharp in take of Breath”! Another forgotten situation comedy. Patrick Cargill of “Father Dear Father” also starred in another forgotten comedy series: “Many wives of Patrick.” Another interesting Quiz. 🤔

    26 : I did get lucky fella as Gold ran it fairly recently along with A sharp intake of Breath, which was an early David Jason sitcom. I recorded them both on my tv box.

    I got 28/30... never saw The Fosters or Lucky Fella back in the day. Remember laughing at all the rest as a kid though but geez I feel very old now 😒

    There was a goodly swathe of them I had never heard of. I hardly call the ones I didn't know classics because we never talked about them at school

    these were shows from the UK we got some of these in Canada not all. I liked the ones we got very much especially "on the busses". We had more US sitcoms and some of our own as well.

      I've heard of it and seen it . It was dire, but so were most of his early series! Frankly, I dont rate OFAH ( poor man's Minder!). Jason is a very good actor, though, in dramatic roles. His Frost was excellent, and he is always great as cantankerous old men. Id say his best comedy performance is as the old lag in Porridge !

    Great quiz, full .marks!! Very satisfying, I nearly didn't get Love Thy Neighbour, then as the clock counted down and got to 2, it came to me. So I'm claiming a win on that one!!!

    My first reaction was that I don't know 30 70s sitcoms. Well I got 25/30. I never knew I Never Knew You Cared, missed Father Dear Father, said Robin's Nest for Man About the House and didn't know Two's Company or Lucky Feller (I went for A Sharp Intake of Breath for that one).

    Stan's mum from on the buses came from park road in bargoed s Wales

      In the earlier episodes of 'On The Buses' Stan's mother was played by Cicely Courtneidge, but in later episodes she was played by Doris Hare.

    Poor old me I could recognise only 15 out of that many..
    The best one I liked was mind your language. I still watch it on U Tube .

    23, not bad for someone who was only just born in the 70's. 6 I had never seen before and I mixed up The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin with The Rise and Fall of Reginald Perrin and decided to be tough on myself.

    There were about 2 that I knew the answers to but couldn't remember at the time until the answer came on namely "The Lovers" and "The Fosters" but there were a couple I'd never heard of "Lucky Feller" and "Two's Company"

    The one I got wrong was David Jason in 'Lucky Feller... I'd never heard of that show before..

      I didn't know you cared is one of my favourite sitcoms , I managed to get the box set as it's never been repeated in Britain.

    The only two I got were Fawlty Towers ( I'm a huge fan of Monty Python) and Are You Being Served, which I ran into years ago. Shame that Open All Hours wasn't on here...or was that an 80s show?

      Open All Hours did start in the 70s but there were more episodes made in the 80s so I included it in my 80s sitcom quiz instead.

      It's a bit weird. They made six episodes in 1976, but it didn't continue again until series 2 in 1981.

      I remembered The Lovers and even bought the series on DVD but it doesn't stand up. It is pretty cringeworthy. I thought I liked it at the time but it shows how times change. Paula Wilcox and Richard Beckinsale are both excellent actors but the scripts are really terrible.

    when the fosters came up I originally thought Desmonds due to Norman Beaton but corrected myself when I saw Lenny Henry apart from that got them all

      The Fosters was the show that was Lenny Henry's vehicle to follow on from winning New Faces but Norman Beaton was really the star.

    If I had a magic wand, I would turn back the clock to the 70's and 80's sitcoms as can't beat any of these classics compared to the rubbish they bring out today without offending certain people, The good sense of humor seems these day in 2022 and now in 2023 gone to pot like most things on TV ,
    Kid of this era don't know what they are missing out on,
    And one that surly you would have put on is Only when I laugh,

      Not to me to be honest. I've never seen the programme and at least two of the actors in the pic ARE in Desmonds. Thanks for the info though! By the way, was it any good?

      @@PercyPruneMHDOIFandBars It was OK but clearly American in origin as a British remake of the American Good Times series. It was probably the reason that Desmond's got commissioned.

    I'm pretty disappointed. I only recognized: Faulty Towers, The Good Life, Are you being served?, Sykes, Dad's Army and Two's Company.
    But... Well..
    1. I'm not British. I discovered those shows on UA-cam during the last 10 years.
    2. the ones I did recognize, are my all time favourites. I've watched them all at least 4 times.

    Man, you'd be hard pressed to call some of these 'classic'. I thought I was a britcom nerd but I never heard of about a third of these.

    Back when humour wasn't a crime. I have no time for racism but equally none for ridiculous political correctness where people try to solve problems no one had in the first place. Today's "woke" crowd simply don't understand this. In It "Ain't 'alf Hot Mum", the butt of the jokes was Battery Sergeant Major Williams, portrayed by Windsor Davies. Specifically his homophobic and racist ways.

      One of my favourite sitcoms couldn't be shown now and yet it was one of the funniest. That is "On the Buses". Brilliant characters .
