You can tell from her voice how deeply hurt she still is from the vicious backstabbing and career assassination by her fake friends. I can literally feel the pain in her voice and it has brought me to tears. She didn't deserve this. But she is strong...so strong.

In the 90’s, Roseanne tackled issues of race, homosexuality, and other civil rights fights back then. And she was criticized back then for it. I didn’t see Seinfeld or Friends even attempting to take on those issues. She has been fighting for all people for a long time.

The Roseanne sitcom stood on it's own for it's truth. It was make-believe, but based on real life, and that relatability gave every episode a poignant punch. The writing, acting and production were unsurpassed. Truly a genius show.

And I doubt children that might be influenced by that would be watching a video like this anyway, I'm sure we're all adults. Roseanne has been through a lot, and smoking doesn't make her evil, just weak. I DON'T condone her smoking, I think it's bad for her health, but I'm guessing she got through the interview easier with it.

There was absolutely no reason to continue watching Roseanne without Roseanne. Even though it was the supporting characters that made the show what it was, you still need Roseanne to lead them.
I wonder how much script writing Roseanne did on that show. It was common knowledge during her first show, Roseanne had to rewrite the entire script by herself, last minute because the writing team produced garbage.

And a lot of hacks, too. However, one great thing I know for sure Rosanne did, both then and now, was keep three writer/comedians on staff to punch up the jokes. As a kid who’s parents gave up on him and his kid brother at the age of two , I feel that I searched for “mother and father” figures in the media I used to pass the time .. books , records , films and of course the TV.. I was born in 1984 , and remember fondly watching Rosanne .. seeing her struggles and the way she handled things in this fictional world , made me feel at peace in my own childhood struggles .. made me feel normal I guess. And in 2003 as a young dad at the age of 19 , I rewatched all the episodes again on Nick-at-Night .. now with a different lens as a struggling parent .. it just helped out at so many different stages of my life .. I’ll always love Rosanne and John , they guided me when I had no one to turn to. I wonder if they really know how much they mean to me and so many other people ..

The new season of Roseanne was one of the best seasons of sitcoms ever made!! I grew up on Roseanne, and this new season really resonated with me and was absolutely amazing. It was absolutely tragic when it was cancelled, and made me truly sad. The seasons of "The Conners" still have a similar vibe, but it really doesn't feel right without Roseanne on it. I want to give her props for that season; amazing writing, amazing acting, amazing characters.

I love Roseanne. I watched her on the tonight show or SNL before her show. She was and still is the only female comedian that makes me laugh. She had this smile and laugh that was so genuine. I will always be a fan. When the deal went down with ABC not only did I not watch the Connors, I have not watched ABC since.

There is not a single scenario that I can conceive of in which The Conners can succeed. Roseanne *is* that show. She’s the sarcastic, shrill, no bullshit Sun around which this entire show revolves. This isn’t like replacing Diane with Rebecca on Cheers. Removing her is like removing Al Bundy from Married with Children or Archie Bunker from All in the Family. She’s that level of importance to this show. And don’t get me wrong, Laurie Metcalf is, and has always been hilarious as Jackie. And John Goodman’s birthday should be a national holiday, as far as I’m concerned. But there’s a reason that the show was called “Roseanne” and not “Dan and Jackie”.

Her show defined my life. My mother and aunt were just like her and Jackie. I am from Central Illinois. The towns, the tradition. Everything was so similar. Then I learned that Laurie Metcalf went to ISU with my mother in Bloomington. Mid-west folks loved this show because it was 100% real.
She's signed off so that 200 people could keep their jobs, but it won't make a difference. The Conners won't last a month. Nobody watched that show because Becky got a new job at Hooters or were crazy about the wacky adventures of Aunt Jackie, or Darlene's love life. Without Barr, it's a cast of "the straight man" to Roseanne's Groucho. Nobody gives a shit about them.

They even pulled the reruns of classic "Roseanne" on TVLand when the media freaked out over her tweet, which I hated because "Roseanne" is probably my favorite sitcom ever, right up there with "I Love Lucy" and "The Golden Girls". I can rewatch all of those shows over and over again endlessly. But the whole reason "Roseanne" even exists at all is because of ROSEANNE!!! She was the brains behind the show, which made it such an enormous success. Like she said, it's so sad for them to throw her away and just take what she worked so hard to accomplish. They can try to copy her style, but it will never be the same without Roseanne. I am very interested in those characters and super curious how they would handle the situation of losing Roseanne, but I absolutely won't be watching on principle. I can't. I believe she's been killed off. I respect that she stepped aside so the others could work but it's still sad it all went down like this. I've admired Rosanne Barr since I was a kid, grew up watching the show. My own mother died when I was three and my Dad raised me by himself. So, I felt a little bit of connectivity to the way she loved her children and family. But I think that was a lot of kids. She was the mom a lot of us connected with.

I know this is an old clip, but I was just talking about this to my son. Roseanne was totally betrayed by this cast & crew. Roseanne gave the cast, writers, producers, show runners, etc. their careers. Where would they be without her? IDK how they sleep at night after they all betrayed her? They stole her show & and nobody stood up for or supported her. BTW, the show is awful. I've accidentally watched a few minutes of it a couple times. And a lot of hacks, too. However, one great thing I know for sure Rosanne did, both then and now, was keep three writer/comedians on staff to punch up the jokes. That's where guys like Norm really shined!

As a kid who’s parents gave up on him and his kid brother at the age of two , I feel that I searched for “mother and father” figures in the media I used to pass the time .. books , records , films and of course the TV.. I was born in 1984 , and remember fondly watching Rosanne .. seeing her struggles and the way she handled things in this fictional world , made me feel at peace in my own childhood struggles .. made me feel normal I guess. And in 2003 as a young dad at the age of 19 , I rewatched all the episodes again on Nick-at-Night .. now with a different lens as a struggling parent .. it just helped out at so many different stages of my life .. I’ll always love Rosanne and John , they guided me when I had no one to turn to. I wonder if they really know how much they mean to me and so many other people ..

The new season of Roseanne was one of the best seasons of sitcoms ever made!! I grew up on Roseanne, and this new season really resonated with me and was absolutely amazing. It was absolutely tragic when it was cancelled, and made me truly sad. The seasons of "The Conners" still have a similar vibe, but it really doesn't feel right without Roseanne on it. I want to give her props for that season; amazing writing, amazing acting, amazing characters.
ABC made the biggest mistake when they underestimated how loyal Roseanne's fans are. The Conners, a show based on Roseanne without Roseanne is a dumb idea.

Roseanne is a woman I look up to since a child. I grew up with her. In a weird sense she is a mother figure because all through my kiddo years she reminded me just like my mom & dad. She could’ve been spiteful but I adore how she cares about everyone working. What an amazing woman!!!

There is not a single scenario that I can conceive of in which The Conners can succeed. Roseanne *is* that show. She’s the sarcastic, shrill, no bullshit Sun around which this entire show revolves. This isn’t like replacing Diane with Rebecca on Cheers. Removing her is like removing Al Bundy from Married with Children or Archie Bunker from All in the Family. She’s that level of importance to this show. And don’t get me wrong, Laurie Metcalf is, and has always been hilarious as Jackie. And John Goodman’s birthday should be a national holiday, as far as I’m concerned. But there’s a reason that the show was called “Roseanne” and not “Dan and Jackie”.

I grew up watching this show. I bought the first 3 seasons to rewatch and plan to get the rest to rewatch
Her show defined my life. My mother and aunt were just like her and Jackie. I am from Central Illinois. The towns, the tradition. Everything was so similar. Then I learned that Laurie Metcalf went to ISU with my mother in Bloomington. Mid-west folks loved this show because it was 100% real.
She's signed off so that 200 people could keep their jobs, but it won't make a difference. The Conners won't last a month. Nobody watched that show because Becky got a new job at Hooters or were crazy about the wacky adventures of Aunt Jackie, or Darlene's love life. Without Barr, it's a cast of "the straight man" to Roseanne's Groucho. Nobody gives a shit about them.
Jackie without Roseanne is like Chandler without Joey. Good luck.

They even pulled the reruns of classic "Roseanne" on TVLand when the media freaked out over her tweet, which I hated because "Roseanne" is probably my favorite sitcom ever, right up there with "I Love Lucy" and "The Golden Girls". I can rewatch all of those shows over and over again endlessly. But the whole reason "Roseanne" even exists at all is because of ROSEANNE!!! She was the brains behind the show, which made it such an enormous success. Like she said, it's so sad for them to throw her away and just take what she worked so hard to accomplish. They can try to copy her style, but it will never be the same without Roseanne. I am very interested in those characters and super curious how they would handle the situation of losing Roseanne, but I absolutely won't be watching on principle. I can't. I can't pretend that what they did to this woman is ok. I feel so bad for her, the only reason they crucified her, say over Joy Behar or that mean bitch Samantha Bee, is because she supports Trump. They've been looking for a way to attack her since that show came back. The proof is how the show was received before when she was so very much more liberal and left-leaning, the network and the media praised and lauded the show. I did too, even though I'm very much not left-leaning, but I'm an intelligent human being who can separate my own feelings or political beliefs and appreciate something for what it is- which in this case was just plain hilarious. Now, how come liberals can't do the same? The entire rest of the show is liberal, why can't they just let the woman be conservative and leave her be?

I remember the first time I saw Rosanne. It was her first appearance on Letterman and she was brilliant. I remember thinking “Who the fuck is this?” She really had me laughing, and that’s very rare with stand up comedians. I wish her the best.

I didn't watch the Connors. Without Roseanne it's not the family I grew up watching, and I thought it was a stab in the back to try to carry on without the person that made the show. I love your truth Roseanne, you paved the way for women in my generation.
You know Roseanne is a unique person she reminds me of my mother and that show was epic it resonated because there are so many blue collar mother and fathers that are trying to give their children a better future than they had and one thing that she is right about is they do take a lot of people's art and think that they can copy it without the artist they did the same thing with Dave Chappelle you can't just throw another person up there and expect them to copy someone's art and they're trying to do it right now with Half Baked how you going to make a sequel with none of the original cast it ain't going to be the same without Dave Chappelle Jim Breuer and Harley like there's plenty of examples of them trying to take someone's or and use someone else to copy it so she's telling you facts right there

I believe she's been killed off. I respect that she stepped aside so the others could work but it's still sad it all went down like this. I've admired Rosanne Barr since I was a kid, grew up watching the show. My own mother died when I was three and my Dad raised me by himself. So, I felt a little bit of connectivity to the way she loved her children and family. But I think that was a lot of kids. She was the mom a lot of us connected with.
I will never forgive those turncoats that threw Rosanne under the bus. I’ll never watch anything they’re in. Shame on all of them.

I stopped watching the new seasons when she left. I still watch reruns and it cracks me up. The new season started out soooo good and funny too. They did her dirty for sure.

I know this is an old clip, but I was just talking about this to my son. Roseanne was totally betrayed by this cast & crew. Roseanne gave the cast, writers, producers, show runners, etc. their careers. Where would they be without her? IDK how they sleep at night after they all betrayed her? They stole her show & and nobody stood up for or supported her. BTW, the show is awful. I've accidentally watched a few minutes of it a couple times. It's super woke ( they clearly have an agenda) & the worst part, not funny at all!
