  • In today's video, I will show you the Z-Stuff signals in O Scale. I will go over the functions and show you how to set them up to power and how to have them talk to each other. These are the best signals IMO because you don't need anything else for them to operate. Just wire them and you are good to go. No extra boxes, no isolated rails, no extra sensors. All self contained. Thanks for watching

I agree, I love Z Stuff and have the crossing signal DZ 1010 and the hooded three light signal DZ 1072. The only investment for railroad signals for me is Z Stuff. I like the way you set up your signals with the yellow to white wire option and would do that but my layout is too small. (9' by 5').

That yellow to white wire op is so easy to do. I love the simplicity. By layout is about 14' x 10 and it is barely big enough for that operation to appear correct so I understand. With the smaller layout situation, just having them on the timer is good enough.

Great video is there away to tie all the signals together my layout is very complex. i have a few triple target, double target, and lot of single target. For the 2 loops, yard & Engine shops. Im finaly at the moment i have been dreading lol putting up signals o boy

Yes there is. It is very simple though. Each signal has 2 wires connected to it. One sends a signal to a signal down stream and another wire that receives a signal from upstream. So you can tie loops together so that each signal knows what the signal in front of it and behind it is doing (ie red yellow or green). But I wouldn't tie them all together since they are going different directions. I don't know how it would work in yard applications. Nor do I know how it would work with multi-signal posts. I kept mine simple.

@@PriestBrosLines keeping it simple is always the best. I kept pushing off as much as I could knowing signal install ain't going to be fun. Right now my yard & engine shops have Dorf signals their wired to the switches. But I got to install single heads to the main then I have cross overs witch require 2 head then I have 3 3 crossovers that need 3 heads so I'm like o boy this is going to be fun 😆

@@Dachamp2001 Well if you figure it out, make a video explaining it. I'd love to watch that. I really like the Z stuff signals
