My iva finally finished last year BUT only now I’m finding out about how they went about it,basically I was bullied and panicked in to it! I explained I couldn’t afford it but he said for me to ask my boyfriend at the time he agreed but we split up not long after it began but to keep me out of trouble he kept making the payments,I contacted credit fix to tell them my situation had changed, I was homeless and lost my job but they didn’t care! Anyways after hearing this I’ve looked at the paperwork and over £5000 was paid to credit fix and NOT my creditors! I’m very worried now
I was told at the start I couldnt go bankrupt as I worked. I owned no property or anything of value. They lied!!! After 1 yr they said I had no disposable income n I agreed to extend it from 5 yr to 6 yr. 2 yr later they're saying I owed more from earnings n suggested extending it again! I said no! I paid 4 yrs but recently got more financial advice who were more honest n said I should of gone bankrupt at the start! I'm now in that process. If you own no property DONT do an IVA!!!
The budget is impossible. It only allowed me a tiny amount for car maintenance. My old car cost me £800 to get it through MOT and a further £400 for a new shock absorber and fan. It blew away years of IVA budget. There was no budget for moving house ie rental deposit, removal ran etc, essentials breaking such as vacuum cleaner, laptop etc. My hairdressers budget was £6 per month! So all the emergencies had to come out my food budget. . There was virtually no savings/ contingency in the budget. Finally, couldn't rent a new place to rent because I had an IVA. Landlords just didn't want to entertain us. It kills you
I am on a DMP, and at every annual review they try to push me into an IVA. My age alone should tell them that it's not a wise choice, at 67 who knows how much longer that i will be able to continue working and maintain enough payments for an IVA to clear my debts. They are only suitable for young healthy people in secure jobs, and who's job is secure these days? The only winners with IVA's are the companies that run them, yes a lucky few make it through one only to find that to clear all their debts they have to take out a mortgage or loan at very high rates of interest, putting them back in debt again, how crazy is that. It's high time that the IVA market was subject to an investigation for misselling and the extortionate fees charged for running them, leaving very little going to the creditors.
i receive state pension and pension credits. i am disabled in receipt of pip. my payments to creditfix are £35 a WEEK! i did not have more than £7000 of debt. i have been paying in for 4 years and they just reduced my payments to 15 a week but my iva has been extended for a further 2 years! i could have paid my original debt in full! worse thing i ever did and im horrified at the high fees! thankyou for this video.
I've nearly finished my 5 year IVA. Best decision regarding my debt ever. Certainly worked for me. The creditors only receive a small amount but who cares if the debt is wiped off after 5 years?
Very interesting, I am with Hanover and have called Hanover twice to ask them for the telephone conversation that we had regarding the IVA up until today they have not sent it to me
I ignored a £12k unsecured debt (negative equity) and the debt is written off after 6 years Just never enter into any communications or make a single payment to a creditor or a debt collection agency.

Credit fix have no intentions of helping no one

Could you be put in an IVA while on esa? I thought it was inappropriate as esa only gives you the money the law says you need to live
