The point is if he used a kitchen knife then he would have done the same damage but if he had access to say an AR platform or really any firearm other than a bolt action then he could have taken the whole street out or a hospital or shopping centre or something. Crossbows are like guns, point and shoot. I blame large department stores like decathlon and trago who sell to the general public with no background checks or knowledge about what they are selling. Most archery shops insist you are a member of a club and have completed a coarse. You will however never stop people obtaining weapons by other means.
When I heard this yesterday, my initial reaction was that this is bloody awful, but it’s no less shocking than a terrorist attack. I’m not doing a comparison thing to bring about debates or cause controversy, I’m being serious. He terrorised those women with a weapon and killed them. That poor family. The neighbours must be in shock as well. That kinda tragedy doesn’t just shake the victims and the nearest and dearest, it scared everyone.

This person was 'in the Army' for a year. That's almost six months for basic training, and then the next three months finding out that he couldn't take it. Getting out takes three months, and while you're waiting you get all the low-grade stuff to do, like 'black-hand gang', keeping the location clean and tidy, or 'runner' - taking mail and stuff around. Hardly any kind of a soldier.

It’s tragic what happened but banning crossbows is absolutely absurd. Banning items doesn’t stop criminals from using them. I hate the British attitude towards self defence and the government’s obsessive need to take away people’s freedom of choice and responsibility. Crossbows have been used for thousands of years to hunt and for self defence and also for sport and leisure. Banning them because of a few isolated incidents makes zero sense. It’s pathetic. If a mad man gets behind a car and smashes in to a crowd of people will the government ban cars? It just sounds ridiculous.
Wasn’t even a crossbow what a joke on the reporting. It’s very sad though but banning legal users isn’t right. It’s a power grab.

Soldiers are trained to be impassionate and ofted traumatised by their training and experiences.
This person was 'in the Army' for a year. That's almost six months for basic training, and then the next three months finding out that he couldn't take it. Getting out takes three months, and while you're waiting you get all the low-grade stuff to do, like 'black-hand gang', keeping the location clean and tidy, or 'runner' - taking mail and stuff around. Hardly any kind of a soldier.

Those poor girls and their mother. :(. it makes me so sad when I think about their dad and sister. ...Last week we had a crossbow attack on a policeman who was guarding the Israeli embassy in Belgrade, Serbia...
