The screen is better and the processors are better for graphic intensive work as well as better single-core performance. The A14 is proven to be the better multicore chip, but you want the highest single-core performance for games. I assume that both models will not throttle after a few hours of gaming. I would go for the iPad Air at this moment but if you really need a bigger screen or more storage the iPad pro is the only way. The Air will get everything done for the next 3-5 years, so give it a try.
