Great stuff. I recently took a class and had a bunch of stuff out of my control going on in life that prevented me from being the best student I could have been. Still learned a lot but nowhere near what I could have if I was completely there.
Excellent video. Glad I'll be taking a class from you in 2021! I thought I was a dork when I would take notes for other classes (not shooting classes necessarily). Within a week or two of the class, someone ALWAYS asked me if I could get them a copy of my notes.
Always Be Learning! The spice of life is to always learn!
This is an excellent advice that more people needs to watch. I love taking classes because I'm always willing to learn something that I can later promulgate to my peeps. Anyways, great video as always Jon, looking forward to take another of your classes.
This is probably one of the best shooting videos I've seen. Thanks for the info. This will help tremendously
Going to Yakima, WA? Prepare for wind calls. Lots and lots of wind calls.
Looking forward to the next episode man. An interview with any instructor you take a course from would be quite cool!!
Good tip about drawing the drill. Your notes are thorough. something instructors could improve on is making sure note takers have enough time for quality notes, I always feel rushed.
You're gonna need a bigger notebook! :) When I took that class from Caylen years ago, I took 25 pages of notes! You're going to have a great time. I almost cancelled my weekend plans and drove up when I saw Caylen post openings for the class. Looking forward to taking Weaponized Geometry with you in Oregon next year!
Good to hear! See you in Oregon man!
7:19 just changed my mindset. Thank you bro!
Glad I can help man
The team at Modern Day Sniper are great. I would be there this weekend if I could've gotten away from my other (nursing) classes. I recommend their online schoolhouse as well. This is going to be a great series!
Thanks for the video. This is a unique series that nobody else has done.
I was wondering why so many people don’t progress past pistol one. I have no ego and had taken several classes repeatedly at my local gun ranges.
I agree that taking notes is important. I have a decent memory, so I do a massive data dump on all the fine points learned by typing them into an email and sending them to my good shooting friend, who can understand what I’m talking about even if she wasn’t there. I also take pictures of my targets using my iPhone to record my results and help jog my memory. If there is anything too difficult to retain by the end of the day, then I can type, notes into my iPad during breaks. I carry a mini arsenal of loaded mags to afford myself time to type or do other things, instead of wasting t me reloading. Looking forward to night vision one day - and that is a financial constraint until I sell my condo!
Sounds good man. I have limited rentals for all my nvg classes so nothing you can't get into sooner
@@KineticConsulting That does raise an interesting question for the rentals... Do you adjust the the padding in the helmets for students who rent from you?
@@michaellynn7745 I wash them like the manufacturer recommends.
@@KineticConsulting It would make sense to try the first before dropping $20-30K on a set and a helmet. I tend to like to get used to my own gear. How much does renting binos cost? Do students need to come early for a fitting?
@@michaellynn7745 bino rental is 300 for the 2 day class. No need for an early arrival. Most of my classes I go through a setup process and guys renting are able to play around with setup.
This is a great idea for a series. I’ve taken some basic tactical pistol and rifle courses at a range near me (I’ve been somewhat limited due to knee surgery) but I’d like to branch out.
Excellent info. Looking forward to the next video
Great advice!! Looking foward to the next episode! Thanks for sharing your experience
Dude your videos actually expand our minds. I can’t wait to take a class(es) from you
Awesome content as always 🤙 great dude to train with. Can’t wait to get my nods and take some low light and nvg classes
I have rentals available
Greetings Sir, the audio levels are low on my end, how are they on your end? An increase would really help. Thank you for the awesome content.
watched this and saw 2 likes and 1 dislike. people really suck in 2020 even more than usual. I guess you (Jon) need to keep the into music and do some fancy night vision stuff to get likes? I for one appreciate your time and effort to put out videos for us. I know your social media is your way of advertising your business and I have no problem with that at all, we all need to make money and try to improve our business and money making potential. if i wasn't so broken I'd be a student of yours already. hopefully 2021 will change that. Thanks for your time Jon!
Love your content dude. 2021 I'll take another one of your local classes.
awesome info thx 🤙🏼
Just a heads up, the volume is super low. Great info though. I can confirm I'm always worried about being the worst shooter in a class. I'd love to see you come somewhere near CO.
Volume seems fine for me.
'It behooves you'....ok Sgt Major haha....
Volume seems a little low
