  • The Izu Peninsula, 2 hours south of Tokyo, is a popular spot for beaches, hot springs and nature. With our friend ‪@AmericanAdventuresInJapan‬ we decided to explore all of that and more as we ventured off the beaten path in search of an old lighthouse. Things didn't exactly go to plan but nevertheless, Izu served up a beautiful weekend adventure!

Hiya guys I trust all is well? I left a comment and it seems to have disappeared, not sure if you can see it or not. Either way I really enjoyed this video, Izu looks like a fantastic area to explore. One feature I found interesting was the circular road bridge that you drove around, not often you see something like that. Lilly really is a cute one, very easy to see why she gets so much attention from people. Thank you for sharing this excellent video with us.
Safe travels and best wishes to the two of you

Hello, hello! We are well, thank you! Hope you are too 😊 Thanks so much for leaving another comment. It seems the first one must have disappeared because we can't see either.
Yes the circular bridge is very interesting, hey! We wanted to fly our drone to get a better view but alas it was raining both times we visited this bridge. Maybe third time will be the charm 😆
Thanks so much as always for watching!

@@RoyandAimee Hi guys thank you for the reply, I’m also doing well thanks and it seems the second comment stayed. Shame you couldn’t get the drone up due to weather, either way it still looked a really interesting drive. I did have a question, how many of the prefectures have you visited so far and any particular favourite?

Glad to hear! 😊 We’ve technically been to 42/47 prefectures but a couple we’ve only passed through and stayed one night while on our first big van trip in Japan. Probably tied for favourite are Hokkaido and Nagano, mainly for the beautiful scenery all year round and food. Roy has his motorbike license so we’d love to go back to Hokkaido one day and do a motorbike trip there! Honestly though Japan does a very good job at promoting what’s special in each prefecture, whether that’s local specialities, festivals or scenery so you can’t really go wrong 😆

@@RoyandAimee that’s great that you’ve visited so much of Japan so far. I’ve seen lots of videos on Hokkaido and it really does look amazing, definitely somewhere that I’d love to see one day. Even though I don’t ride I imagine a bike trip would be a great way to see more of the areas. Also even though train travel does appear to offer a lot of access to Japan I’d definitely have to hire a car as there’s so many different places to see and I wouldn’t want to be tied to just the main must see places.
