  • When on my annual far north Reel Kiwi Fishing adventure there's one place that is at the top of my list to fish. Although tiki fishing is last of my ways to fish, it is a great way to spend the day on the beach with a mate and there's always time to flick a few baits out on the surfcaster.
This adventure was no different to the others when we get to step on to the sands of the 90mile - great fun, hot fishing and an epic day with a mate in a special place of NZ.

I love the Soul Surf. Ive got the 9'8". I use it around Wellington harbour. Probably the best rod ive had.

Yep that's a nice little rod that one, super light and thin blank - I use mine around the rocks which is perfect for it 👌
      Tight lines

Haven't had that experience with them as yet - you could try tying a plastic bag to the table in hope the noise and movement of it scares them away?

Nothing “boooooring” about pulling in some nice fish like that!
Where’s the info link on that Kontiki equipment?

    Nice video once again.
What do they do with the mussel spat?

se1796 - they collect it then sell it to aquaculture farms where they are grown then sold. It's a massive industry which is worth around 400 million a year. Spat is basically wild baby green lip mussels from mussel beds nearby that are attached to seaweed which washes up on the 90.

Don't get to fish it much lately but It def won't be dead - just did a half day out there fishing with the Sis and showing the brother in-law a few tips and tricks on how to read the beach and fish with braid. I managed to flick a few bait's myself and best went about 55cm,
