I actually have been to 2-3 of them in Oklahoma.
Good stores. I even found a prototype genesis game there once. Bought it for 8 bucks. :)
from kc and visit vintage stock weekly great store for classic game lovers, a tad bit pricey on some things but overall a really great store don't knoww what I would do w/o it
Vintage Stock is so much better than GameStop because Vintage stock has old games and consoles and GameStop stopped selling old games and stuff
Dude, nice vid. I visit that store all the time as I live here in KC. That is my favorite one here in the KC area. They are always pretty cool about filming in the store. I just picked up 5 boxed NES games form that very store a week or two ago. :)
5:13 I laughed wicked hard at that random background opera singing! :D
Hell yeah! Old games, old albums, rush. That stores awesome! hahahaha
Vintage Stock is pretty cool. I frequented it alot when I lived in Tulsa, OK.
@IDoThisForU Cool I go to KC a lot for work (4-5 x a year), and I hit those off of Metcaf when I'm there. Both are great locations.
I love Vintage Stock. I go there every weekend. They keep up to date on comic books.
Hell yea Rush playing in the background!
Man I wish we had more shops like this around me. I could spend all day in stores like this.
Dude, I live up the street from Vintage Stock (just past Wal-mart). I'm going there again today to pick up some more Genesis games. Last week I bought a Nomad, the Sega CD/32 X version of Night Trap, Double Switch, and Virtua Racing Deluxe. Great shop for gamers and movie lovers.
@xxMrNoobxx I think Lunar was around $20, but I'm not 100% sure on that. Thanks for watching.
looking back at this its amazing how cheap they were to then and that was only 2010
I could watch this all day, great post. Thanks!
How did I miss this video?! I see Vintage Stock commercials all the time, but I've never visited any of them. I'm planning on checking one of them out today, finally. I HAVE to go now: Audioslave's Like a Stone was playing at the very end, haha. It was a sign! Awesome video!
That's an amazing store. They have a fantastic selection. Great video. Keep up the fantastic work, Gamester.
A vintage gaming store with RUSH playing in the background?! That's FANTASTIC!
I love Vintage Stock, only thing is I got to the one over in Belton MO, i get a lot of my games and tcg cards there
I wonder if there is one of these stores ear me. Thank you so much for showing this store that I might never get to see otherwise. It's like you're just normally shopping and stuff and that is super great.
@Gindelbi LOL Yeah you're right I had a brainfart. I know about the X series of Megaman, and that Megaman 10 was recently released as a DL game. Just wasn't thinking I guess. Thanks for the catch. =)
Great video. Your cinematography is really easy to follow. Great close ups of the games! It's like I'm looking at them with my own eyes. Keep up the great work!
@FumanchuBros Yeah YT upped the limit to the videos to 15, but since I'm a partner I can post longer videos if I wish...which is one of the perks I like about it. =) To answer your second question, I had seen some games like that before, but they are very strange indeed.
Vintage Stock (originally Book Barn and Caveman Comics) were notorious amongst comic book collectors in Missouri for their high employee turnaround. It originally started out as a comic book store in Joplin called the Book Barn, then expanded to Springfield as Caveman Comics, and then expanded even further into other cities and states. They do have cool stuff, but it's not much of a comic book store anymore.
WOO HOO!! They have these in Oklahoma! They are WORTH the 200 mile drive!!
Wow, it's not every day that you hear Rush playing in a store! Thanks for another great video man!
Actually, that's Audioslave. Has the same singer, but the other band members were from Rage Against the Machine.
Yeah vintage stock is pretty sweet place, the one I go to has tons of ps1 rare games and whatnot, never seen that many sega cd games though.
@Alymero Perhaps, but these stores school GameStop because they carry old school games and have so much more variety.
Sweet! Awesome Star Wars figure selection too.Thumbs up!!!
@TheDarkHighlander yeah brainfart I guess. I'm familiar with the X series and I know that MM10 was recently released as a DLC, but I just wasn't thinking I guess when I called it "10". =)
really wish there were more stores like this in my area (south Texas)
but I guess i'm glad we have the few we have.
The place blasts Rush and sells retro video games...seems like an amazing place.
I live in Shawnee, Kansas and have a Vintage stock behind my house (I walk through my back yard, and there's a shopping center with a Vintage Stock).
I got a really bad impression about their customer service as one of the employees lied to me on my first trade saying I could return my games any time for another one if I didn't like them but when I came to return games I didn't like he said I could only return games if there's something physically wrong with them.
They're much better now.
Fantastic place! Lots of great stuff. I'm really jealous, haha.
awesome, they played "rush" at the store :-) great great band!
Soundgarden at the end of video. DAMN! Wish had something like this in Indiana
Damn, they were playing Rush in a vintage game store. That's like heaven for me.
Awesome store!
The Spirit Of Radio on the background? Awesome store.
I've seen cartridges like the Sampras game. It's called a J-Cart and it allows for 4 player games. 2 controllers plug into the Genesis and 2 controllers plug into the cart itself. There were a couple of Micro Machines games that came in J-Carts.
@nickstokes123 I went about a month ago but if I remember correctly I picked up a couple of Star Wars figures, Smash TV for the NES, Atari Karts, NBA Jam for the Jag, and a couple of other games that I can't recall at the moment. =)
@SuperMarioGrant Yeah I've been to a number of them. There is one in a mall that I have been to (kinda a ghetto mall), and I've been to another location in KC as well.
Awww, this makes me sad. I used to be the store manager of the Moore location, and before that I was the assistant store manager of the Midwest City location.. Its a great company. Working there helps with collecting, lol. :)
@underpathunderpath It kinda depends to be honest. Most stickers are fairly easy to get off, and some that have been on there for awhile can be a bit of a pain.
I love the RUSH in the background.
You know the stores awesome when Rush is playing!
I have to stop watching these videos they make me cry.
I was born March 2nd 2008 and I think in 2012 I went to vintage stock alot! To buy so many gamecube games
@Gamester81 Awesome! I played trombone in high school and college, and was in the marching band, pep band, and jazz band. I am, what you might call, a band geek. LOL!
Holy Crap... that store is freaking awesome!!!!!
Another place I gotta go visit somehow
I love vintage stock! I go there all the time looking for retro games, and when you said your in Kansas City i almost pissed myself. Turns out that you go to a different one in Missouri, I go to the one in Olathe.
thats a pretty cool store nice prices for a professional store.
its probly real easy to steal in there
the pete sampras cart is known as a j cart, it was developed by a British game developers codemasters. its was released in late 1994 i think there was only about 4 games released in this cartridge format
looks like an awesome place. Hopefully one will open in the WA area.
this store looks awesome
@chaosmonkey666 I think I've actually been there before. It is DT by the campus?
I never got why Genesis boxes are missing. I understand about NES, SNES, N64 as they were made from cardboard and would fall apart by just looking at them, but the boxes are made out of super tough plastic, hell they're tougher than DVD and bluray!
But man I wish I knew you were looking through 32X games, I'm after some US ones.
@509GAMER Hmm hard decision but I'd have to go with the Genesis, although the DC is classic as well. I guess it depends on what type of games you like playing the most.
The RUSH soundtrack really adds a lot to this video
Theres this awesome place in Minnesota the sells a bunch of old school and rare games and accessories, i was surprised to pick up a N64 Ram expander at the place. brand new.
awesome video dude.....I'm sure since this video is up now many people will be there cleaning the place out!
I live in Oklahoma I live sort of close to 2 or 3 of these, great store I buy most of my stuff there on my birthday.
@SPac316 Where in WA do you live? There is a place called the Pink Gorilla in DT Seattle which is an awesome store!
Sounds like an awesome store, they even have Rush playing in the background. Rock on! I hope I can get to Kansas city someday to try that out, and get some good BBQ too.
u seen titles that are probably rare that i would just glance by..wish i was older than i am so i could have grown up with all these games!
love how they stick the price tags on the mega drive game stickers lol
that's my local store live right by it it has changed a bit thow theirs even more games know you need to come back some time its pretty cool. i go there every week!
damn this store rocks all that retro goodness
dude I work in vintage stock & I dont think gamestop will EVER beat us
reason#1.they dont carry old skool games like 4 the super nintendo or atari etc.
reason #2.we sell movies too and MOST of our customers are movie buyers
reason #3.we rent things out and they dont some people come to us just for the rentals
reason #4.....we sell cd, and we sell them really cheap
infact best buy is more of a competition to us than gamestop is...gamestop doesnt even have the level of customer service we do
The Sampras cart (MegaDrive) is similar to the Micro Machine cart. It was a clever way of multiplayer without a seperate multi tap. I don't know of any other games that have built in joypad ports, but Sega did some cool things with their carts, like the Sonic 3 + Knuckles lock on
nice music and nice place
These kinds of stores are rare for me to find but lately they've popping up every nearby or in big cities.
this store looks so cool, we need more stores like this in the UK. our stores suck in comparison.
Any store that play RUSH for ambiance is AWESOME is my book. I don't care what they're selling.
@r4x2 KC is one of my favorite cities to visit to be honest.
there blastin out the rush tunes in that store
that Zelda-game for 40 bucks, wasnt sold here in Norway..
it was only avavible through buying a special gamecube package with a game..
i belive the game was mariokart..
it kinda sucked that you didnt get a dvd-case for it..
i had to print the american inlet, and buy a dvd-case.. and i glued the gamecube disc holder into it..
There is no other game from the late 70s or early 80s except Atari?
As you pointed out, early SNES games was published into a different casing shape, it's good to know that, making it easier to classify which ones are older than others that way.
they seem to be playing all of permanent waves! pretty sick
man wish had that where i was. looks like a lot of good stuff.
spirit of radio! RUSH!
what a store!
These are called Movie Trading Company here in Texas and the in box potential is awesome there.
Boxed Sealed Atari Carts... Holy crap nice find!
Yay I found one of these stores near my area in arlington texas :D I am so going.
I'm digging the Rush in the backround
That first vintage stock really liked Rush songs
Looks like a pretty badass store
We got MovieTradingCompany in Texas, they're owned by the same company. Stores are exactly the same. Best prices and selection for classic games imo.
We have two of these in springfield MO. They are awesome. 'Nuff said.
how can you pass on your favorite game? cool stores and was very cool of them for you to shoot in the stores
OMG ! this IS heaven
That looks like an excellent place to shop, pity there's nothing like that where I live.
Awesome they play Rush!
I tend to avoid buying things in stores as their prices are usually ridiculous in comparison to say, ebay, for example - but the prices in the store you were at seemed quite fair and realistic.
we need some more stores like this on Puerto Rico
Man, Berserk for the Dreamcast!! Classic Anime for sure. Great Video.
I live right by this store. No fair that you found that Atari Karts before I did. XD
Beautiful video gamester!!! keep up!
I would go into this place JUST for the music. If it was in Florida anyway. I think if I had any sort of disposable income, I would have a field day in here.
