In my mind there is an alternate universe where Kikyo got together with Sesshoumaru and rule the world together. They have a son that is as stoic and strong like both Sessh and Kikyo but also kind in helping people. Unlike the annoying tomboy child and emotionally stunted girl that Rin gave.
i liked all the characters in inuyasha, but i favored kikyo, sesshomaru, and rin the most. sad caharacters like kikyo are always the lonely 1. sesshomaru is nice and despite his powers, he even goes after traps. rin is a very nice girl; i mean how many girls these days would care for a stranger, especially if he's a demon like sesshomaru? i was so sad not to see sesshomaru have a girlfriend, which he failed twice(kagura/this princess-can't remember her name).
Imagine the many seconds Kikyo took to come down from the horse and walk pass Sesshomaru toward the "doctor". Yep, Sesshomaru simply stood still. What? He wanted to see what will happen next? Could've just walk away...
She stalked the guy until he proved himself unworthy. Says a lot that Jakotsu would fight Sesshomaru but was terrified of Kikyo. She always conveyed an air of regal superiority.
I always find it interesting to see Kikyou and Sesshomaru in the same room. It's like they have a mutual non-interference clause unless it's in service to beating the common enemy.
I think that Kikyo is one of the very few beings in the world that is equally (or at least, almost) as powerful as Sesshoumaru. Power respects power unless if one side wants beef.
She's sophisticated, tragic, "human" in the sense of being uncertain and hypocritical, her English va gives her a surprising range of vocal tones despite her usually being deadpan, she's a neutral badass who can't help but lean towards her kind nature, she's pretty and isn't half as dense, and she isn't as trope-ish unlike kagome who's meant to be the "everygirl"

Because there was a seal on Kagome's powers since she was born, so she can't use them like she should be able to. It is explained towards the end of the series...in the manga at least. I don't know if the anime touched on it.

@@monica-mn2cd Yeah, I stopped watching Yashahime because I don't like that our favorite character can't catch a break and there is always something going down in their lives, and I believe they should have enjoyed their retirement. There was an extra manga, which revisited the characters, in which Kagome killed a youkai and surpassed Kikyo, basically making a name for herself. That's another reason Yashahime pissed me off; it doesn't follow through with how powerful our favorite characters have gotten. Instead, it puts them all back to square one. The mini series doesn't do Kagome any justice.
No, I think Sessoumaru was actually happy Kikyo was able to save Rin when he couldn’t. I also like to think that Sessoumaru was somewhat impressed by Kikyo immense spiritual powers.
@@davy209 What bothers me about this event is that shortly after Kikyo saved Rin, Sesshomaru allowed her to be killed by Naraku. He wasn't flying in a rush to the scene to defend her, he simply strolled in with Jaken walking at his side. It's the one and only time I wasn't happy with Sess, every other time he was petty or cruel it seemed natural.

why didn't naraku use the same tactic to kill everyone off like he did to kikyo/inuyasha? if rumiko takahashi let kikyo put the necklace on inu, then perhaps, their bond wouldn't have been broken. sad and nice ppl like kikyo & sesshomaru & rin are always alone for a long time b4 some1 join them; however, the paradise may last 4 eternity or for only a glimps of an eye. sad & nice ppl r always lonely in real life as well, and even if they're with someone, they still felt sad inside.
Of course, Inuyasha will always care about her in some way because she was his first love. But he's made it pretty clear that he cares about Kagome more when she tried to kill him by dragging him to hell with her. I could easily tell you why people hate Kikyo, she has a few good moments through the show, but that doesn't change the fact that she's basically an evil soul stealing monster now.
Oh, well, honestly I love kikyo, but, she's just my least favorite. I was kinda eh, towards kikyo. I'm not saying you can't like her, in fact, I would much rather say "I love kikyo" than save the lives of any sesskag fans. I hate sesskag fans.
