I started collecting coins at age 9, am now 58, there should be no such thing as to what's best, what's worst, it should boil down to what you like most. I started stacking about 10 yrs ago but still collect. Hundreds of oz silver later I still love scrapbCanadian and American . Dozens oz gold, 1oz bars but mostly maples. I have a few Krugerands because when I was a kid I dreamed of owning one. That was 1976 so I got one, then a 77 and 78 and 79 and 80 because I reached my dream. Other gold coins are British, a few Canadian because we didn't have that many so I have a nice group of American gold eagles, double eagles and various Indian heads because they are beutiful. I couldn't resist an 1899 10 roubles Russian. It's beutiful. But if stacking is all you want get what you like best. You will be alot more happier that way!, cheers!

I gamble and stack. Yesterday i bought a 20 dollar scratcher and hit for 300🎉. I went to my LCS and bought a silver ten ounce bar and a trump round for it and had money left over😊
Just remember IN YOUR HAND, I hear so many say I have x000 ozs I say show me a few...and they show me a piece of paper that says x000 I laugh and go home and hold a few.....out of the mint tube.......

One time at work I found a hundred dollar bill in a mud puddle. On the way home I went to my lcd and bought myself a fist 👊 full of silver dollars!, one of my most fond memories of buying scrap silver!

Your guess is as good as mine. Best I can suggest is that I rate Gold as a "Hold".
If you can get gold or silver ex jewelry at about scrap value then I suggest you buy.
I stacked gold primarily during late 2022 through 2023. Now in 2024, with silver at it's current lows, I will be picking up more silver.
I started buying Washington quarters and slqs, then I picked up halves and dimes. Then foreign silver and recently small gold coins. Purely as a precaution.
I’m stacking gold while trying to complete my 1/4 ounce tube and somehow get a few more 1 ounce gold coins for that tube this year.. I pretty much sold all my silver last year and won’t be looking back.

Hello, if the silver coin is brown and beat up, does it still have any valuable? Like a Mercury Dime, is it still worth example $1.78 for the 90% Silver or is something wrong with the dime to change that color?

I’ve been collecting coins and stacking silver for just over a decade now, I will be buying silver as I still feel silver is undervalued and I believe the mining ratio of gold to silver is 1:18, or silver being about 18X as abundant as gold, which makes me question the true value of one of these metals.
i can give you the true value. the metals are worth exactly what someone is willing to pay for them. which is the price they are at now.
