Wow! That card is stunning! Lots of work but worth it. Glad you found your ring. You have an angel sitting on your shoulder - most people would never have found it. Thanks for sending smiles!
Thank goodness he was able to rescue your ring... those heart attack moments are the worst. I agree with you... that kind of project is therapeutic! Block it ALL out! Love!
Both cards are beautiful but the mandala is beyond beautiful Laura. The patience you have amazes me. I would love to make that and frame it. I don’t think I could give it away. I love your cards and your stories. I was so engrossed in your story I lost track of the card progress. ❤️
Oh my goodness Laura. What a story. I can totally understand the panic, stress and sadness you must have felt, that moment. Tgf hockey sticks an a cool husband🏑💍 BTW... I love your cards
I lost my wedding ring in the lunch room at work but I thought I lost it in the bathroom when I dried my hands. I went through the waste basket several times but didn't find it. Two days later a coworker was going through the office and asked if anyone lost their wedding ring. I immediately said was it a white gold ring with stars and he said "Here's your ring". He found it under the pedestal table leg in the lunch room. I had no idea it fell off my finger and landed there. I have the same problem as you with swelling at night and can't wear my ring late in the day but for it to fall off during the day without me noticing was definitely strange. I was so thankful someone found it and had searched for the rings owner. Love your videos and stories.
Amen for hockey playing husbands! And wonderful cards as usual, although the mandala one must have taken ages! It is beautiful, but the man, the patience!
So glad you were able to get your ring back!! Jup, 24 years with no losses, it was totally time! LOL love these cards, especially the first one. I would totally sit down and make ONE of these, but don't think I'd sign up for a swap with them. LOL
Beautiful cards. I am not that patient, so will leave the mandala piecing to you! But I will play with the gradient inking😉. Very happy to hear that you were able to rescue your ring!
So thankful you found it. I have a story almost the same. My husband passed away at 38 to leukemia, a couple of years later, my youngest daughter was wearing her daddy’s class ring, when her older sister seen her wearing it, she gave her a really hard time about it, “if you lose it, “ that sort of thing, well we went to a city less than an hour away to have dinner and shop. So later, the youngest daughter all of a sudden was just so grumpy, had no idea why, she was like biting everyone’s head off. We got home and finally scolded her and said geez what is wrong with you? She bursted out crying hysterically “I lost daddy’s ring”, sobbing, tears flowing, I wanted to cry too, but she was already so upset, I said don’t worry about it, we’ll find it, honestly thinking in my head, there’s no way we’ll ever find that ring and her sisters are never gonna forgive her. So they went to bed and I went out to check the car, no ring in site. I sat on the steps going into my house sobbing, for her, but selfishly myself and her sisters too. I prayed hard before coming back inside. I lifted my head and immediately seen something shiny, in a yard full of pea gravel, the tiny little pebbles all over my yard, I went over to see what the object was, and low and behold, his ring, stone sunk into the rock, so barely seeing the tiniest piece of white gold poking up. Looked to the sky, thanking Jesus for showing me where it was. Went into the house, climbed into her bed with her and showed her what I had found. She had been crying that whole time, thinking her two sisters were gonna hate her forever, she hated herself too. She was only 14 when he passed, and so sensitive. She just gave birth to my 13th grandchild. So glad you found it, such an important piece of jewelry.
Oh no !!!! I admire that diamond stone !!! so glad you got it out . Love your card !! I had a friend who went to post a letter and her ring fell into the letter box with the letter !! she got it back but had to sit there all night until the Postie opened up the box ! true story ox
omg, Laura - I became so engrossed in your ring story that I forgot to watch ..... had to go back & watch & listen to the story again! Amazing - SO glad you were able to retrieve it.... thanks to a clever hubby & hockey! Every time you talk about Germany I get a bit nostalgic.... we lived there for 3 years, long ago. It was a wonderful experience. Oh - love your beautiful cards, too!
My goodness Laura, you must have patience above and beyond. About the wand, just put a dot of tombow mono multi glue on it or connect glue or a spritz of pixie glue on the tip and you will have a sticky tip once again. Thanks for the inspiration.
Beautiful! A lot of work but you did it! Ok so I was watching one of your older videos and my husband walks by when you said that really chaps my khakis he laughed and kept going the next day I hear him talking to the dogs in the other room and he told them when they barked too much it chapped his khakis ...... I laughed so hard.
I’d like to say it’s because he’s Canadian that he didn’t get mad but as a Canadian I know that’s not true! Lol! I did gasp when you said you lost your ring down the shaft but was able to relax since you were wearing it in the video! I’d be hysterical, so good for you for keeping your cool too! As for the cards, thank you so much for showing how to use the mandala stamps and dies. I love this set and you made it seem easier than what I imagined! Both cards are gorgeous!
I watched this ages ago and loved your ring story. Came back to watch again today as I’m obsessed with mandalas… and laughed when I realised it was the ‘ring lady’ video! 🤣 Thanks for making me smile!
As always your cards are great .. this Mandela is gorgeous .. and your story reminds me of the time I dropped my car keys in the storm drain in front of a pottery shop ... super slow motion as I watched them fall.. went in to call the fire department and shop owner had a giant stick with a hook on the end she told me I was not the first person to drop something valuable thru the grates. 🤓
Lovely cards, such soft, bright color on the second! My heart was racing while you told the story of your ring! Actual saying from my dear hubby, “Some days you get the elevator, and some days you get the *****.” You can guess how it ends! Glad you got your ring back! TFSharing, Laura! 💌 Take care.
Beautiful cards...and the patience to create the mandala, you’re a saint and so is your hubby for rescuing your ring. That could have been a loss like no other, but hockey wins again! thanks for sharing and showcasing the new Altenew products. Be safe and keep creating...
Beautiful cards and love how you put them together....well done as always... So glad you got your diamond back lucky you......I lost the diamond in my ring and of all places to lose a diamond is at a campground where every little pebble look like a shiny diamond...never found it but boy or boy did we search.
Well this was better than watching a Hallmark movie! Or, just as good LOL! Suspense, humor, drama, and even romance at the end with your hero! Love the cards too.
Always love your stories! I can just see you guys working to get that ring back. I was mesmerized watching you glue all those tiny pieces of cardstock on that card. Great cards as always!
Love the cards and your ring story, Laura! So glad your hubby was able to retrieve it and didn’t get upset about the situation. Since we are a music family rather than a hockey family like yours, I was trying to figure out what he would use in place of a hockey stick... probably an extending microphone stand? I’ll probably ask him in the morning. lol
Beautiful cards, Laura. You have amazing patience with fiddly bits! I am so glad you got your ring back. I lost my wedding band in our RV years ago and never found it. At least it wasn’t a diamond, but still...
Laura, your cards are lovely...especially the Mandala! That had to be so stressful, losing your ring but luckily you found it! Your husband is a saint!
Beautiful cards so glad you got your diamond back, I lost the diamond out of my engagement ring while on my finger in the washing machine several years ago, still waiting for my husband to get me another one...lol
this card is so incredible, dear Laura!😍 my goodness...your story about your wedding ring..😲 so happy your hockey playing family had the perfect "tool" for saving it❤👍 your husband is a hero...staying calm and simply solving the problem...one more reason to love him, isn't it?!👫🏼❤
Love the story and the cards are BEYOND!! They're GORGEOUS. I don't know if I have the patience, but I think that upon seeing the results, I could get "in the zone." Thanks for sharing!! Lori in PA
Ok that is the most hilarious ring story ever! I one time lost my ring in a restaurant parking lot and it was still in the same spot when we went back after I noticed I lost it after a whole day of shopping😬 that was nervous
Man do I feel ya! My wedding ring has a pearl instead of a diamond, and I lost the pearl out of it when I took my oldest daughter to an out of town audition for her college music department. I wear a $15 fake most of the time now, even though my hubby was a saint and replaced it for me. I'm totally paranoid of loosing it again.
My husband would have laid an egg!!! But he woulda gotten it too, so there ya go 😁😁😁 Ok LB, now I need that dang mandala die set & im broke! Time to sell one of the kids 🤣😉
Wow! That card is stunning! Lots of work but worth it. Glad you found your ring. You have an angel sitting on your shoulder - most people would never have found it. Thanks for sending smiles!

Just love those leaves. So subtle but so effective.

He turned the hockey stick into a (literal!!) jewel picker!!! I wonder if Studio Katia would be willing to make a hockey-stick sized jewel picker?? 🤣🤣
I gave a sharp intake of breath when you said you dropped your diamond down the elevator shaft and you said....I know. I did chuckle!!!!
Beautiful cards!! I think we can all relate to losing g our ring at least once! Glad it worked out!
