- Within 48 hours of our return from visiting grandma and grandpa in Florida, it snowed in Chicago.

We got a dump of snow here last night, knee deep, lots of black ice. Have to break the spikes and poles out, this is gonna be fun! 🏃♂️😀❄️🇨🇦🤘😎
Looks A LOT like the conditions I've been running through in Montreal over the past month. Had my first semi-dry run last night without crampons. It felt amazing.
ok, I've been sitting here whining about having to run in the slush and rain, here in Boston. This video has properly shamed me into shutting up and getting out the door! lol

Did not know you could have that much snow in Chicago! Is that the lake effect causing all that snow fall?
Lake effect usually happens on the Indiana side, although we can sometimes catch it

Last week here in TJ we where already in the low 70*, but all of a sudden we’re back on the low 50*. But we have to keep getting those miles in 💪🏼🙌🏼

Reminds me of my Boston running days. I wouldn't run during a blizzard but snow on the ground didn't stop me. What DID stop me were those Jan-Feb cold snaps where it would ten below for 10 days or more with 50-mph gusts. Can't breathe.
I hope 🤞 we’ve gotten past the most painful of temps for this winter. Should still be a lot of cold and wind and snow, but nothing vicious anymore

My kids did snow angels all the way home from school. A fifteen minute walk took 40 this day

So far we've had the mildest winter in years over here in Belgium. I for one do not miss frozen toes and fingers, a pile of wet or dirty running gear every day, and the need to take a long hot bath or shower afterwards to feel somewhat normal again ... But I sooooo miss the feeling of accomplishment after getting out there, as one of those few crazy guys, plowing through snow and fighting the elements! Great vid :-D
It’s a good feeling. But if I never had another day like this one, I’d probably be ok with the memories of what I have so far

I wouldn’t mind a situation where I got to visit weather like this a couple times per year (rather than living with it all winter long)

@@kofuzi I have a cheap $13 pair I picked up at Costco that I normally run with, especially in ice, but wasn't sure what you used.
Great video. The all important question…what shoes were you wearing and how was the traction on them?
I wore the Adidas Terrex Agravic Ultra. traction was pretty good. while the shoe has some glaring faults, it worked out very well for this kind of run. I did slip around a bit in the snow in the streets, but I've been slipping around in my hiking boots as I've been taking the kids back and forth to school.

We’ve had our share of snow days in Manitoba too. Today is cold day with current temp at -35 C with windchill at -45 C. Many school divisions cancel buses at these temps and some schools closed today too. Most open though.
