I come back to this recording often. Listening to flawless ease in which they are performed, one easily forgets how incredibly difficult these studies are to play!
His etude style was similar to Pollini. Strict tempo from beginning to end was so easy to obtain tempo with using metronome to exercise. Rubato tempo was so difficult to obtain tempo with stolen time to return time meanwhile it never lose pulse.
