The 6400 would have been such a great card for gamers on a very tight budget if not for the lack of a decent media engine on it

You can always buy a last Intel or new APUs from AMD xD. It was a gpu to laptops with integrated card and media engine. For duplicate media engine they did this.

@@amadeos.a.7929 Even the strongest AMD APU currently, the 5700G is nowhere near the 1050Ti, it's between the 1030 and the 1050, plus it's expensive, you could get a i3-12100 and the RX6400 for cheaper and it's actually better.

@@MaxIronsThird Ryzen 5000g igpus and rx 6400 don't make much difference in the current aaa games as they both going to struggle anyways, at least you save alot of power with the igpus. You need at least a minimum of GTX 1060 6gb.
4 cores like the i3 12100f has been around for over a decade already, aren't the majority of market share anymore and future games and productivity softwares are going to take advantage to the multiple cores like 6 and more cores as technology becomes more ressources hungry now.

      @MaxIronsThird Рік тому +2

@@AznKei1 You have no idea what you're talking about.
The RX6400 is just 15% weaker than the 1060, a new one is cheaper than a used 1060, and uses 3x less energy, while sure the 12100(Alder Lake) is just a quad-core CPU, Alder Lake single core performance is through the roof compared to something like Coffee Lake, and can push upwards off 200FPS in some games, the 12100 is 15% faster than the 8700K(Coffee Lake's flagship), the i3-8700K can't even beat the i3-10100(Comet Lake) is most cases.
      4C Comet Lake = 6C Coffee Lake
      That's a 50% increase.
Then Alder Lake Single Core performance is 15% faster than Comet Lake.
      150 x 1.15 = 172%
Ryzen 2 and Comet Lake are much better than the stuff Intel was recycling every year to consumers, since Broadwell.

Basically the same, on CPU heavy games like Cyberpunk, Watch Dogs Legion and Hitman 3, you might see 5% lower fps,(10% in PCIe3.0).
The better pick is the i3-12100, it's better than the i5-10400 and has Gen4 PCIe.

I have an I5 6500T(2.8ghz with boost, 4c4t) and an rx 6400 through pcie3 and I get 45-60 on RDR2 at 1080p at 1080p with Ultra Textures, Tree an Fur with the rest set to medium.
I get 60 FPS on GTA 5 at 1080P high on every setting.
My CPU stays between 55-95 usage but mostly at 75ish though. Even with the old 35 watt CPU the GPU is still the bottleneck.
With all that said it's my RV gaming rig that I run off solar and it only uses a 180 watt PSU. Not bad for 1080p 60fps gaming system.

-10 FPS on average running PCI-E 3.0 (plus no hardware encoding) which most users on this price range are still using 🙄 Keeping that on mind it sits right between 1050Ti and 1650, at $160 MSRP it's a huge rip off 🙅‍♂

It would be better to but a modern integrated graphics cpu. You get a cpu AND gpu in one. Plus you can upgrade with a physical gpu while still having a decent cpu to paur with it. You're better off getting something like the 5600g. You can't use your rx 6400 gpu without a cpu so it'll still prolly cause as much as a 5600g (or choose one of the many other much cheaper apu's) yet not be upgradeable if you go for the 6400 and similar quality cpu to pair with it.
