My connection with my DM is telepathic. His isn't even that - so HIM setting a "very very firm boundary of how he expects our connection to become" would require actual participation FROM HIM before that could happen.
If he's unhappy with what he's getting from me, he can easily fix that by making some kind of REAL CONTACT.

I empathize with you and it sadly helps to know that I am not the only one suffering this.
I tell myself that God has a reason for why it is the way it is and that it serves His purpose - but that doesn't assuage the pain of the grossly unfair inequity of it, nor the resentment I struggle with at low ebb strength times.
My mother was a sociopathic narcissist who was a totality of "all for me and even better if all you get is to watch me enjoy both" - so if God is trying to desensitize me, it's not working.
All it does is amplify the fears that I really am all alone in it and nothing's going to change, much less anytime soon - and I'm just deluding myself otherwise.
