I hardly ever comment on posts, but this spoke to me. At my place of employment, my job was coming to an end and they worked with me to find another position. In the 13 years I’ve been employed there, the department I ended up working in was different than anything I’d done there. About a month into it, I knew I wouldn’t be staying. I also felt that there was no place for me there anymore. So one day at lunch time, I went to my car and prayed. I gave thanks for the opportunity, but also told God that nothing about it felt right and prayed for guidance on what I should do next. I went back to my office area, and the main door was locked. I took my key out to unlock the door and my key didn’t work! The very key I used to unlock the door earlier that morning didn’t unlock the door after I prayed! It turns out that I was the only one in the office suite who wasn’t notified about the locks being changed. My name was misspelled on the email. Again, I’ve worked there for 13 years. So this completely spoke to me, especially when you mentioned keys. I will be resigning and I’m not afraid. It’s been a great run, but I know that my time there has come to an end. Thank you, beautiful sister, for bringing this message of confirmation.

The pandemic greatly impacted higher education and we are all feeling it. I have built successful programs at the college, impacting students in a major way. The position that I landed in after my previous role was eliminated is an administrative assistant; my title is operations manager. I was an ops manager in my previous role. This is nothing like that. My very first job at the college was administrative assistant 13 years ago. It’s like taking two or three giant steps backward and no opportunities for growth or advancement. I’m submitting my resignation next week. Super excited!! Lately I've been a nap person and I've never been able to just sleep during the day. It's been going on continuously for about 2 months now and a lot has been changing during these months. A lot is to come as well. I do a lot during the day but as the days go on, the less physical energy I can put into those things.
