It can be difficult to admit the truth, it can be difficult to accept criticism, but it is necessary and very useful! Our people were spoiled by the Soviet regime and the subsequent three presidents, including the leadership of Artsakh, and now the time has come to truly admit our sins, repent, ask God for forgiveness, be cleansed every day with prayers, and the Lord will extend his hand to us and show us the Way and return what he took from us because we were mired in sins and did not deserve the mercy of God and what we had! Well said. Even taking aside the religious aspect, resorting to personal responsibility rather than blaming or relying on others goes a long way in life. Cultivating peace is very different to signing a ceasefire or relying on meetings between political leaders.
Mitch jan another great video. You are right on the money but I have to add a But. The collective needs religious leaders who are not sinners themselves. The leadership needs to unit and build a military state and the church needs to be the glue that reminds Armenians that we are our mountains and God lives in Armenia.
@scottsdaletour...Some people think it's a contradiction to have a strong military and faith in a Christian God at the same time. However, you only have to look at Israel in the Old Testament to understand God used their army to defeat evil neighbours.

Hi Mitch, I just encountered this video and got to hear you for the first time. I hear your caring voice for Armenia where God led you to settle with your wife. We were there in 2019 and I can understand why you love it so much. Your points are well taken about the need for Armenians to pray to the one and true God and demonstrate their Christians faith with their actions. It seems to me that you generalized a bit regarding the women's attires and the men's laziness. Also, from what I see posted on UA-cam, there are many worship songs posted by various Armenian groups that are calling the people to come closer to Christ. I can share with you at some point if you like.
You are correct about me generalising women. My intent was to wake up some of the young girls doing this. It was said in love, but not everything the Lord teaches us is easy to follow. Satan is doing his work very well in corrupting innocent young minds. God wants us to live pure and wholesome lives, so if my message seems a little harsh, it's only because I want people to follow the Lord and not the latest fashion trends or social media 'stars' Thank you for your godly comments, they're much appreciated.🙏

I simply meant it is wrong for Christian women to dress in provocative ways, when the scriptures teach that they should dress modestly. The reference to homosexuality and other sexual deviances (which the world has embraced) was merely to remind our brothers and sisters of God's divine plan for his children - man, woman, marriage = children. Thankfully, our nation has not embraced the abomination of homosexuality. However, we cannot close our eyes and shut our voices when we see married men having affairs with other women...and that does happen here. Often these men are rich and think they can do what they want with women without suffering any consequences. Armenian women are naturally beautiful, so who told them to dress and look like supermodels? Ah, that would be social media, which is another great stumbling block for many. We have to be careful what we watch, how we react to certain media and what message we want to pass on to our children. In my videos I often refer to Armenians as having traditional family values (which we learnt from out Christian faith), but I see more and more we're turning away from that, especially in Yerevan. My heart bleeds for Armenia and Artsakh, Greg, and the suffering is beyond human comprehension. I am not passing judgement on the Armenian people, just trying to remind them of their true Christian faith. Every Armenian failed Artsakh over the last 30 years by not investing heavily into updating the military, not focusing on cooperating to enrich everyone in the economy but just every man out for themselves, and for relying on pride instead of recognizing the threat of genocide looms even now to prepare. Every Armenian who lives outside of Armenia and pretends the diaspora has any influence is also another reason for failure. But let us not pretend it is because Armenians aren't Christian enough, when they were literally being slaughtered for clinging to the Christian faith in 1915, when offered a chance to convert and become wives or concubines for murderers.

Sorry not to sound disrespectful, but if you help yourself God will help you. Armenians have had 25 years and they have known their neighbors for generations. Russia has betrayed Armenia not for the first time. The Armenian elite has been asleep both in Armenia and Diaspora. Armenia needs a strong economy and military and should become a second Israel to defend itself. Do not take offense, these prayers do not bring anything. Only facts and as we have seen with Azerbaijan, preparation, diplomacy and brute force! If there would be really a God, he would not have created the mankind or he has mental problems or is a sadist.

You are a man of self reflection so, if I am generous, perhaps you didn't quite appreciate how this particular monologue might be perceived. However, I'd respect you more if you had first travelled to Artsakh and delivered your speech, face-to-face, to the mothers of the murdered people there. Explain to them how their sins brought this upon them and demonstrate your righteousness to preach upon them by living with them for nine months and experiencing the hell that they have had, and continue, to endure. Whilst you are there Mitch, perhaps count how many of the people of Artsakh you observe actually dressing like prostitutes and have Botox inflated lips, as suggested in your sermon. I suspect none. In fact, contrary to the title of the video, this is not about Artsakh at all, you have simply used it as a springboard to pontificate. Feel free to quote your chapters and versus, but that was not Christ's way. I have lived in Yerevan with my Armenian wife for nearly 10 years and love the people of Armenia and Artsakh with my whole heart. We even have an "adopted family" who live in a poor village about 30 kms from Yerevan. I have been to Artsakh about 4 times and witnessed their ongoing fight just to exist in their homeland. One cannot but be deeply moved when one sees that.. I am not passing judgement on anyone, that is God's domain. But He does use imperfect vessels (like me) to remind Christians of their duty towards God and man. If that comes across to some as harsh and unloving, then I can live with that. But I cannot sit idly listening to Armenians fighting with each other and pointing fingers at who's to blame for all of this, when in fact we are all to blame. Many have turned away from God, even though we profess to be Christian. I trained for the Christian ministry many years ago, John, but in the end did not become a minister, although I served as an elder for many years in a Protestant church. I converted to Orthodoxy (Coptic Orthodox) in 2012, so I was not just a lay preacher as you say. However, it's irrelevant as to who I am, when our focus as Christians should be on how we must live our lives in Christ. My message was just a poor reminder to the Armenian Christians of how we should live our lives as followers of Christ. Many poor souls in Artsakh may have never even heard the gospel of Christ, yet they live as though they have. Perhaps, much of what they know of their Christian faith has been passed down from generation to generation, and we can thank God for that.

Every Armenian failed Artsakh over the last 30 years by not investing heavily into updating the military, not focusing on cooperating to enrich everyone in the economy but just every man out for themselves, and for relying on pride instead of recognizing the threat of genocide looms even now to prepare. Every Armenian who lives outside of Armenia and pretends the diaspora has any influence is also another reason for failure. But let us not pretend it is because Armenians aren't Christian enough, when they were literally being slaughtered for clinging to the Christian faith in 1915, when offered a chance to convert and become wives or concubines for murderers.
@NouraZahle...dear sister, it's not a matter of "not being Christian enough." That's not what we're talking about. Everyone sins, as Saint Paul said in the Holy Bible: "All have sinned and come short of the glory of God." Yes, it's true we are a very persecuted nation and have suffered at the hands of our enemies for generations. It doesn't seem fair, but God's ways are not our ways...and we don't know the reason why often bad things happen to good people. But we trust that God does, because He's our Heavenly Father. We are even taught to "pray without ceasing" and "all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution." You might not want to believe it, but it's one of the truths of our Christian faith! Peace be upon you🙏

@cuteandfunny9154...yes, functioning monasteries are necessary not only for the spiritual health of the church, but also for the whole world...as the main work of monks and nuns is to pray.
Sorry not to sound disrespectful, but if you help yourself God will help you. Armenians have had 25 years and they have known their neighbors for generations. Russia has betrayed Armenia not for the first time. The Armenian elite has been asleep both in Armenia and Diaspora. Armenia needs a strong economy and military and should become a second Israel to defend itself.
Do not take offense, these prayers do not bring anything. Only facts and as we have seen with Azerbaijan, preparation, diplomacy and brute force! If there would be really a God, he would not have created the mankind or he has mental problems or is a sadist.
@owlmirrow178...no offence taken. Actually, I fully agree that we need a strong economy and military. However, about the non-existence of God, I have to disagree strongly with you. You see some people believe God should not allow evil of any kind, but we were the one's who went against His Commandments from the beginning. I know this is no consolation to you, but knowing the power of sin in my own life and experiencing God's forgiveness on a daily basis is no fairytale either! I thank God for His infinite mercy and kindness to me a sinner. So, it's only right for me to ask the people of Armenia and Artsakh to pray from the heart. 🙏

But to recognize the devil, you have to have seen and best of all experienced. With religion I personally can not do anything but everyone as he or she wants. Whereby I am not averse to the idiology of Zionism. That can be a model for the Armenians as well

Or did the Armenian government betray its own people because they wanted to join the EU and NATO and thus surrendered their own people in Nagorno Karabakh to the hands of the Turks, Azerbaijanis are just another Turks, supported by Turkey (a NATO member country).
Mitch, you are stereotyping and characterising a whole population negatively which is a complete misrepresentation of the Armenian people and I fear that you do so, disingenuously in my opinion, simply so that you can deliver a lay sermon bordering on sanctimony particularly given the gravity of the situation in Artsakh/ Nagorno-Karabakh.
You are a man of self reflection so, if I am generous, perhaps you didn't quite appreciate how this particular monologue might be perceived. However, I'd respect you more if you had first travelled to Artsakh and delivered your speech, face-to-face, to the mothers of the murdered people there.
Explain to them how their sins brought this upon them and demonstrate your righteousness to preach upon them by living with them for nine months and experiencing the hell that they have had, and continue, to endure.
Whilst you are there Mitch, perhaps count how many of the people of Artsakh you observe actually dressing like prostitutes and have Botox inflated lips, as suggested in your sermon. I suspect none. In fact, contrary to the title of the video, this is not about Artsakh at all, you have simply used it as a springboard to pontificate. Feel free to quote your chapters and versus, but that was not Christ's way.
I am Christian, but quite frankly I possess a modicum of humility, compassion and sensitivity to the present situation which causes me to find this particular video to be distasteful.
@john_norris...thanks for taking the time to comment, John...I understand and appreciate your perspective, though I take issue on some things you said.
I have lived in Yerevan with my Armenian wife for nearly 10 years and love the people of Armenia and Artsakh with my whole heart. We even have an "adopted family" who live in a poor village about 30 kms from Yerevan. I have been to Artsakh about 4 times and witnessed their ongoing fight just to exist in their homeland. One cannot but be deeply moved when one sees that.. I am not passing judgement on anyone, that is God's domain. But He does use imperfect vessels (like me) to remind Christians of their duty towards God and man. If that comes across to some as harsh and unloving, then I can live with that. But I cannot sit idly listening to Armenians fighting with each other and pointing fingers at who's to blame for all of this, when in fact we are all to blame. Many have turned away from God, even though we profess to be Christian. I trained for the Christian ministry many years ago, John, but in the end did not become a minister, although I served as an elder for many years in a Protestant church. I converted to Orthodoxy (Coptic Orthodox) in 2012, so I was not just a lay preacher as you say. However, it's irrelevant as to who I am, when our focus as Christians should be on how we must live our lives in Christ. My message was just a poor reminder to the Armenian Christians of how we should live our lives as followers of Christ.
Many poor souls in Artsakh may have never even heard the gospel of Christ, yet they live as though they have. Perhaps, much of what they know of their Christian faith has been passed down from generation to generation, and we can thank God for that.
