1. 1 Don’t be distressed by evil men
Or envy those who love their sin.
2 Like grass they’ll wither in the sun;
Like weeds they’ll be mown down and burned.
3 Trust in the LORD, love what is good,
And make His faithfulness your food.
4 Delight in Him and all His will,
You’ll find your heart’s desires fulfilled,
You’ll find your heart’s desires fulfilled.
2. 5 Commit your way unto the LORD;
Trust in the truth of all His words.
6 He’ll prove you righteous in His sight,
Bring forth your justice as the light.
7 Rest in the LORD; don’t be distressed
When men bring wicked schemes to pass.
8 Let go of wrath and bitter spite;
God’s vengeance only will make right,
God’s vengeance only will make right.
3. 9 He’ll cut them off in their vile sin;
And give the earth to humble men.
10 The wicked man will lose his place.
11 The meek delight before God’s face.
12 The wicked plot against just men,
13 But Yahweh laughs- He knows their end.
14 They draw their blades to slay the poor,
15 But they will die by their own swords,
But they will die by their own swords.
4. 16 A righteous life’s worth more than gold,
17 For righteous men GOD will uphold.
18 GOD knows the days of the upright
And will grant him eternal life.
19 He’ll know no shame in days of dread.
When famine comes, he’ll be well fed.
20 But ev’ry wicked man will die.
GOD’s foes will perish in their pride,
GOD’s foes will perish in their pride.
5. 21 The wicked owes and does not pay.
Good men show mercy and give grace.
22 The blessed will receive the earth,
But cursed men will be cut off.
23 GOD guides the steps of the upright;
In all their ways He takes delight.
24 Though good men stumble, they will stand
When GOD upholds them with His hand,
When GOD upholds them with His hand.
6. 25 Through many years, I’ve never seen
Good men forsaken in their need
Nor their descendants beg for food-
26 How blest the children of the good!
27 Depart from sin, do what is right,
And you will have eternal life.
28 God won’t forsake the saints He loves;
But wicked men will be cut off,
But wicked men will be cut off.
7. 29 The righteous shall inherit earth
Forever and no more know death.
30 Their mouths are wise, their tongues are just,
31 And God’s true law is their heart’s trust.
32 The wicked watch with evil plans
And seek to slay the righteous man,
33 But God won’t see His saints condemned;
He’ll vindicate and will defend,
He’ll vindicate and will defend.
8. 34 Wait on the LORD and keep His ways;
He will exalt you in this place.
You’ll see the wicked be expelled
35 Though they in power once excelled.
They grew and spread like mighty oaks,
36 But God has felled them with a stroke.
I sought them where they thrived before,
But they are gone- they are no more.

9. 37 Behold the blameless and upright-
Their future holds no dread or fright.
38 But sinners all shall be destroyed-
Their future holds no peace or joy.
39 The righteous know GOD’s saving hand.
He is their strength; He makes them stand.
40 He saves them from the wicked men,
He rescues all who trust in Him,
He rescues all who trust in Him.
