2cv is by far the most well engineered vehicle of all time. Simple yet robust that had stood the test of time. I live in South Africa and we never got them here as wholesale. There are a few rare imported ones that are very very expensive. I.just love them
I have to say, I have never seen that car before! 1986 body styling from 1960s, wow! I would get quite the looks driving around in a car like that.. 😂 I mean I recognized it as a Citroen, but never that one. It looks like a cross between a Volkswagen, and a 1940s American car... Crazy
I just love a 2CV, yesterday I travelled 500 miles to collect a 1963 project which will take a lot of work .I have a 1988 2CV that has just passed its MOT and a Hoffman kit to make a 2CV cabriolet someday .I'm so pleased you have anther on your channel .Good work Seppo.
Looks like a great car. When this 2CV is back on the road it will be worth quite a bit of money. I see them often being advertised between 7,5k and 12k in NL and some special versions or low mileage unrestored original cars even higher.
Very very nice! The paint looks still wet. Well done!. The color is a white or a light gray? Position of (aftermarket-) turn signal lights on fender is a bit odd. One should think to find them on the side of the car just near the bonnet (the line of the extended A pillar).
When I put a new wiring loom in our 2CV I found the design philosophy rather lacking. The feed to the headlights goes through the switch; no relays. To reduce the current the diameter of the wires was kept rather small. The high resistance might limit the current flow, but does tend to lead to internal heating. It did not do much for the brightness of the headlights. I modified the wiring to include fused relays for low and high beam, increased the gauge of the wires to the headlights and took the feed from the starter motor. The wires to the switch were retained. Now the car has brilliant headlights and the switch and wiring don't heat up. The cars sold in the UK did have two relays, but these were part of a badly designed dim-dip system, which should be bypassed without delay! Good luck with the wiring, I bought my new loom from Mehari Club Cassis, and it came with brilliant instructions, you are welcome to a copy.
I look at that, and I think that it'd be a perfect candidate for turning into a 2CV Beachcomber (or Transat, or France 3, depending on the market they sold in!), with the white paint and the blue stripes coupled with matching seat covers, it'd be a beauty... :D
Looks like a good project to turn a quick profit on. You could improve the car a lot by just removing the aftermarket 'beauty rings' from the wheels They look really wrong on a 2CV. Well, I think so.

I always wanted a 2cv! But my parents forbid me from buying one. This was in the early 90s. I scrimped and saved, and I was almost ready, when my parents came in and said; I would be laughing stock if I took it to work. They’d forced me to buy a Ford Fiesta. Hated the bloody thing!!!!😡🤬 In fact, I’ve scrapped the car within 11 months of owning it. It died from major engine failure. Neglect I should say. It was unloved, unwashed and covered in rust.
Are you sure about the year? I have a 1985/86 2cv6, it's a RHD and they went back to round headlights and a different steering wheel. I thought those headlights and steering wheel were from the 70s....
Some people fitted the rectangular headlights on later models for aesthetic purposes, that and a lot of restored 2CVs these days are so heavily modified from their original factory spec that you can't always look at their features and judge if they're the right age or not, I do prefer the round ones myself, but each to their own... :)

I love it! It's very tidy and it's baffling that the previous owner stopped so close to the finish.
In Germany we call 2CVs Ente, meaning duck.
Interesting. In Finnish these are known as rättisitikka (rätti is rag for the top, sitikka is a diminutive of the make).
It’s a lovely car and I remember these when I was young very nice in white aswell 👍👌
Your latest purchase the Citroen 2CV its very nice a couple of jobs just to finish it off and of course the most obvious is the drivers seat
That's a good buy. Restored 2CVs here in the UK go for crazy money, five figures!
Nothing is cheap now in the way of classic cars in the UK , apart from the wrecks

You never seen a 2cv? :D Ohh there is so much in store for you! Wait until you see the brilliant simplicity of the suspension!
wow that looks in great condition - DO NOT let HubNut see the condition of those wheels and trims - he will launch a raid to get them for Elly
I will steal his roof then! :P

Impressed 😊
As a watcher of Hubnut channel and his many cars ,he has a 2cv i will enjoy watching you finish this car , getting it running etc.
That looks really nice, looking forward to more two cylinder content👌
That's a nice car to enjoy next summer, before you sell it

Lovely project! I await Mr. Hubnut's comment somewhere here...
602cc of raw power 👍🏻🇬🇧
When it is through the mot put some wax on the underside and inside of the frame. If it hasnt been done already.
My first car was a 2CV which may be why I wish the vastly superior Renault 4 was as popular and available today...🤔
I’ll buy it!
Keep you busy for the winter
Yea... I was running out of things to fix..... :P
Sometimes its a good thing i dont have available space for project cars :P

all 2cv in the late 80s had the rectangular headlights in DK as far as I know... :) maybe cheaper?
Is the exhaust attached to anything, do they normally hang down as low?
It's not hanging in the rubbers yet... it is not completely assembled-. :)
