- In this episode we are joined by Kai Volatility founder Cem Karsan. Cem has led the way in educating investors about the importance of option dealer flows and the impact of hedging on the market. We discuss this issue in depth and look at how dealer positioning can have a much greater impact on markets than many believe. We also look at what that impact means for long-term investors.

To think that about 2-1/2 years ago, this content would make my head completely spin, and now I’m soaking it up with zeal! I’m so very grateful this video popped up in my feed last night. I’ve been curious about the outsized lots traded and open interest on some of the options I trade, and I’m guessing these may have been dealer hedges given an extended move in the underlying they foresaw (or perhaps a large position). Nevertheless, I’ve been trying to decode the data to use it to my advantage given the asset’s market and volatility. Thank you kindly to the podcaster and guest for the opportunity to delve more into this very interesting aspect.
